If the setting was like the previous Guild War, a player can’t place more than 1 of each unit.
I think it might be harder there will probably be lots of red book defenses that will get filled first turn and can wreck you faster than the dragon and leave your whole team frozen if you get a turn

Highly unlikely. Book defenses each require a very specific set of troops, which won’t be possible to set up due to region restrictions.
