what i love about this game is playing with people from around the world and it would be more fun to be able to interact more maybe controled comments . have you ever thought about having live events with some of the top players
Iâd love to see a grand knockout tournament. We would need to be able to set proper defence teams for this, but theyâre presumably coming with the new guild wars anyway.
X gems (eg 100 gems) to enter, whoever knocks you out gets your gems. Plus extra prizes for those that get further into the competition.
There could be a grand knockout tournament for each pvp season, with prizes themed to match the season immortal.
Anyone else like to see this?
Almost a year now, itâs a complete joke, they have zero intention of ever bringing gw back because all they want to do is sell you stuff in pvp.
Pvp is complete junk, zero challenge, it was broke the day it launched. No one cares about alliances, canât read Russian anyhow so who cares.
Bring back the old gw now and save you sad boring joke of a game.
Sorry, but GWâs return is highly doubtful. As others and I have previously posted it could not return in its prior format, there are too many OP weapons and troops now to make it a challenge.
Would members accept these weapons and troops being banned from the event? Definitely not.
Would members accept a significantly different GW format? Iâm dubious.
What I would like is a format where weapons or troops would not be banned, but a player would get a points deduction, say 10%, for using them more than once in attack. That would force the highest bracket players to use far more different troops and weapons, while casual GW players would still be fine.
What I would like is a tournament where the loser will see their account deleted! I would like to play and lose! I dream of itâŠ
One year laterâŠand it finally looks like the devs BS gamble is finally over. First, you stated there were complications with GW and the god awful PvP. Then there were reports of certain consoles not working properly with the pathetic new updates. Every time you place a countdown of when GW would start was actual fraudulent information (bait and switch). And now, ONE YEAR LATER, there is no announcements, no countdowns, not even a whisper of GW being in development. Your thread stated that GW would not be canceled or removed, but that was exact what you did every month until now. You hoped to release GW later this year? Quit BSing everyone and admit it was all a con to keep players from abandoning this garbage of a game. You obviously failed to recreate a working program that would fill in as a suitable substitute for GW. So, you and your other dev buddies, do us(fans/players) a favor. Find you balls. And when you do find them, fix the F ING GAME OR JUST CALL IT QUITS. Youâve wasted enough of our time with your BS. Time to move up or just shut it down completely.
I want GW back. But I certainly donât need them back in late December - early January.
We have a long story of endless bugs, and I donât want them hit during public holidays.
It doesnât look like GW will be back late this year, and thatâs a very positive way of putting it. The next update is called the âEpic Burning Chest Updateâ, which suggests more PvP monetization as main feature. As far as official communication goes, the last post (from April, go figure) says they are planning to eventually look at the feedback the community provided:
Even if they would somehow decide to actually start working on that GW redesign, theyâd still have to fit implementation into their product cycles. I believe we were told their roadmap is set in stone for at least a year in advance, so maybe 2026 at earliest?
I have suspected for a while that this was just a long con to cause staggered quitting. Imagine how many people would have left if they told us the truth.
Itâs kind of the opposite. They have no reason not to remake it, since they can make it take up a whole âupdateâ and call it Guild Wars 2.0.
Unfortunately, they make content roadmaps like 1+ year in advance and refuse to pivot for any reason so⊠yeahâŠ
Still no updates whatsoever? The silence is deafening
Dead horseâŠ.beaten
I think the underlying message from the video is, âGems of War has grown too big for our staff, and we have no idea what we are doing.â
Beta tests are offered before every patch, but my friends donât contribute to those as much because their feedback gets completely ignored. There needs to be more open communication instead of automated posts and beta tests that are actually open to changing things before new patches get released.
The mentality around Infinity Plus 2 just seems to be, âLetâs just keep moving forward.â If they asked the community if it would be alright to stop pushing out new content to improve on existing features and fix some bugs, I bet many people would be okay with it. This game has to constantly fix new game modes anyway because they donât take any of our feedback into consideration.
And honestly, the beta tests should be more open to changes before an update gets released. I remember when my friend gave them specific details to make merchant and angel offers better and listed out pages of bugs and problems that were occuring at that time.
All of it was ignored. Just like these forums. The only thing they seem to understand is money.
There is just so many old and forgotten game modes. Warbands, Guild wars, treasure hunt, deep delves, shiny keys and exalted chests, pet rescue with the cosmetic pets, shrines etc etc
Old features that could really be used more for new content. Itâs a shame
âPlan toâ - doesnât mean anything to me. They âplanned toâ give us so many things by x time, and did they ever keep that time frame? I canât remember.
So Iâll believe it when I see it.
The casual destroying of GWs just to have another mode to monetize also cost us so many members already. Who knows how many more until they finally get around to it, and then how many more will the update cost because itâs botched?
Oh that stings! Plan to. I was under the impression that they had been working on guild wars all this year. To fix that what the new pvp broke. Plan to says to me that they only just started planning.
Stings!
As I see it guild wars is the clue that keeps guilds together. Itâs the one game mode that demands guild to be united to win.
Ever since guild wars was canceled since last year, this game has gone into heavily monetized updates. Yes, the new pvp game mode has made it much easier for us to upgrade kingdoms, but they constantly add new money offers that nobody wants.
And I honestly think that the devs kept radio silence on guild wars for several reasons:
Trying to find a way to monetize it, like everything else.
Donât really know how to fix and change the game mode because there were complications with new scoring and other things that interfered with the new pvp system.
They themselves donât know what itâs like to face opponents in bracket 1 and the careful team building and decisions that are required to go 30-0.
As mentioned from the video, this game has grown a lot over the past 10 years. So please. Let us help you. Open yourselves up and accept that you need this community to have a bright future.
Hey all,
Now that the 8.3 update has released I just wanted to update about when weâll be sharing Guild Wars news!
We currently have Sirrian and Nimhain locked in the dungeon (we do actually have a dungeon for real), until they slide a polished Guild Wars rework design and their planned community message about it under the door to us.
Theyâre planning to post more information about Guild Wars itself with everyone later in the month, definitely before the new year so keep an eye out!
Nothing is locked in stone yet so once youâve heard about some of the plans, weâll be keeping an eye out on any comments you might have about it so we can keep them in mind!
I have been manning the dungeon door and, as a major Guild Wars fan, Iâm personally excited by what Iâve seen flying out from under the door so far. It wasnât what I had pictured, itâs better! I hope you feel the same way I do about it when you get to see too.
A message from Sirrian:
