The “this won’t affect most players, just the 1%” line is landing badly here because forum participants aren’t a representative selection of the player base: this may or may not affect most players but it clearly will affect most of us grumbling about it in this thread.
So 1% of the total players on each platform have ever crafted a GaP and 1% of those and doing their battles too fast. How can 1% of 1% of toal players affect your economy so badly that you have to nerf GaP again?
As a long time GTA Online player I thought Rockstar Games was the greediest and worst company around but 505 destroys them. The last GTA heist actually did badly affect the GTA economy by allowing players to spend a week grinding enough that they wouldn’t have to grind for another 6 months or pay real money on the game ever again. The 1% of 1% of players still need to constantly grind for stuff gnomes don’t drop and still need to spend real money for the campaign exclusive troops and pets but you still nerf it.
Now that I know just how greedy and the lack of care they have for their players I’m never going to play regulary again. I was actually thinking about playing a bit more but I’ll just stick to being guildless and playing a couple of times a month.
I noticed I have a few spelling mistakes but I can’t be bothered fixing it.
Because everyone should have known that the rewards from gnome-a-palooza were just overkill, just like getting more verses than you spent on the event was unintentional. Don’t be greedy.
i dont care about the non stop verses. I am fine with the first nerf. In fact its the right choice.
Its about the second nerf to reduce income of resource just because i am doing everything efficient is really dumb.
Actually, it played out quite the opposite. A lot of players pointed out that this couldn’t possibly be intended, the devs responded by confirming that the overkill is exactly how it’s supposed to work and that players should feel encouraged to take advantage of it as much as possible. There’s even an official stream about it.
They showed that you can craft another GaP just from doing a few GaP battles and said everybody should rise to the opportunity and go farm crazy. Note that you just need to unlock your guaranteed Rowanne after a day or three of starting out with the game to easily kill dozens of gnome teams during GaP.
The factor in consideration are the comparison of stats of the invader team (us) vs the defense team (AI in whatever game mode). So if a new player is up against an E1 defense, they’ll probably get better rewards.
Ok guys I’m back from earlier. I ran another palooza and took some numbers this time.
Disclaimer: I’m not a terribly fast player I only have 1 Ironhawk.
I used the team, Sister Superior, dust devil, hero with slayer class, ironhawk
Ran explore 1 in blackhawk. I managed 47battles in the palooza
Now the interesting bit.
Gold: 51.489
Glory: 4.446
Souls: 16.805
I used Tacets video linked above to compare but as Fleg says he managed 71 battles so way more than me. But I compared his starting/finishing resources anyway.
Gold: 311.736
Glory: 14.100
Souls: 87.864
Interestingly of note, I will say Jewel Gnomes are not changed, they were always giving 20jewels though the diamond shards they can give were reduced /shrug
I might try the same with explore5 later if I get time.
Boy I regret spending money on the verse offers during the evening, those verses are worth substantially less now when they were already a horrible value after missing out on the pre-nerf rush. This pretty much makes me never want to spend money on the game again.
Not much can be said than GoW has the most powerful 1% in all of video games. They influence the rest of the game.
It’s not like the economy where the 1% spends the most money I’m sure. Those who are able to play that much probably spend the least amount of money in the game. And that’s the issue in the devs eyes. Too many free resources is the reason they don’t spend money.
So those who already spend money on the game get a less enjoyable GoW version because they already have our money. Drug dealers don’t care about the old clients. Their eyes are always set on new cliental.
If anyone feels it’s unfair to compare the devs to drug dealers. I ask what the frank was the difference between the first 18 hours of a GAP vault weekend. And what a drug dealer would do?
And those who claimed “the devs would of figured out how broken it was without us writing essays about it on here”… Well now you see how long it would of taken to figure it out on their own and make changes considering this nerf is due to it. And guess what, you’re “valuable feedback” did nothing to prevent future nerfs to be justified in the name of the “game economy”.
Devs, if you’re losing money, it’s not due too many free resources. It’s because you think your players are free resources that will endure whatever you feel like doing. And it’s going to eventually bite you in the ass. If anyone believes PQ3 will be the life preserver. Then there’s a Unicorn in your back yard I’d like to show you as well.
