Global Mail Exploit (Banpocalypse đŸ”„)

I would hate to be at a restaurant with you two when it came time to pay the bill. I would throw 1/3 of the total plus tip down while you discussed semantics of waiter posture and food placement until well after closing time.

I don’t even understand what the conversation is anymore. I’m pretty sure either one of you made your points, turned them into a horse, beat the horse, made glue out of the horse, glued horse parts back together, and now we’re looking at a vaguely horse-shaped spot on the ground trying to figure out what the heck we even wanted a horse for.

The devs made their decision. Retroactively changing that decision’s not likely to happen, and it’d be a big mess. Sooner or later you have to make peace with the fact that they drew two lines, banned people to the left of one, punished people in between them, and left people alone to the right.

I don’t get what the goal of this discussion is. It seems there’s a faction of people mad that there were two lines and two punishments. I think if I add up the rest:

  • Only 4 or 5 people are still talking.
  • 2 of them are in some kind of personal deathmatch to Have The Last Word.
  • The rest are kind of joking around with each other wondering when the other two will die of exhaustion.

That doesn’t indicate a strong community desire to see more people executed. I think the healthiest thing for the two people circling each other to do is start ignoring the other. Neither of your opinions are invalid, but I think it’s clear neither of you are convincing the other. I promise it’s not because you just haven’t stumbled into the right analogy yet. You have incompatible systems of belief at the level where logic doesn’t work anymore. Stop trying to use logic to “fix” the other guy.

I say this not just because it’s silly, but because this thread is going nowhere because neither of you is adopting a strong, concise position and attempting to open a dialogue with a person who can do something about your concern. Instead of pestering each other, you should be pestering Salty, preferably long after she asks you to stop, so she can help you find a way to stop posting about a thing that happened weeks ago.

Compared to the present lesson:
“Exploit the game as much as you want. So long as we (the dev) can fix it.”
Or
“Exploit the game a little and it’s okay. Too much and you’ll be banned.”

Nowhere was the intended direction for this thread to go. :person_shrugging:

Which of these people are more helpful?
Those who continue to debate?
Or
Those who comment on people debating too much, thus fueling the fire even more?

Not just you Sly, but Chuckles as well.

I understand society has given everyone the right to have an opinion. When did we include the right to have an opinion about others opinion?

I’ve told you before you don’t tell me how to post, mom. You’re the last dang person who should lecture me about sticking to the topic because you can’t even pull that off in your own threads. Let the moderators moderate, you’re just a player.

Since you pinged me, I’ll go ahead and say that I would personally recommend going to a professional sports store next time, as what you have here appears to be very low quality bait.

Multiple people have said they’d like my debate with thevc to stop now, so I’m not going to get back into it.

Bait shop or a professional sporting shop is what I think you were looking for.

I’m only correcting you because if you’re going to put someone down. At least be correct when you do so. :grinning:

For the 550th reply to this thread, this is all I have to say.

I have no interest in debating this issue with Changer or anyone else. I think I made my position clear. The thread has gone on way too long as it is; mainly because the devs have refused to engage and clarify the intelligent thinking that motivated their response to their faux pas. I don’t expect others to share my opinion and I certainly don’t expect transparency from the devs, who seem to just hide in the background nonplussed about the impact of their incompetence. Consistency is important, and I see that the new class doesn’t seem to know what colour mastery its meant to be boosting, and the upgraded associated class weapon is reportedly guaranteed to transform despite its 10% affix description.

Ergo the only consistency is bugs, avoidance and avarice. Not much point in having forums they can’t be arsed to engage in. So that’s me out.

I, for one, pretty much share most if not all of your opinions.
*edit - at least on this specific topic

This post have been garbage from start.
Everything about this stinks fish. hook line and sinker
And If that was the only reason. then we are dealing with attention horses here. That’s a sickness that dont have cure.

Save you energy.

Where i dont agree at all with you is when you talk about unbanning ppls, so in your opinion ppls like Mr “i would have taken the jackpot 1 million times if i had the chance” should be unbanned?

And prolly if the devs used 2 weights and 2 measures and “graced” lot of ppls is more likely cause if they used zero tolerance and banned everyone who got over 100 times (a very generous line as you said too) you wouldnt have came here “crying” about 2 members lost and some trophies but about “half guild gone and several hundreds thousands trophy’s gone” (1 guild on ps4 lost like 200k of them i think).

I for first would be for zero tolerance but gotta see devs/publisher pov too, they cant lose like “half their playerbase” (and among them quite some whales, like happened to another ps4 guild that lost at least 3 of those) for that mistake.

Yet another put down from someone who doesn’t understand what I am saying. I am not “crying” about losing team mates as should be clear when I referenced a third guild member who exploited but did not spend 30k gems, and questioned why he should be treated any differently to the 2 guys who DID spend. I never said that it was my view that players should be unbanned; what I did say was that the punishment should befit the crime based on the extent of the abuse, and the clear intent of the 100+ club IN ALL CASES. To justify banning or not banning based on the inane concept that spending is a clear indication of malice is ludicrous. Hypothesis, assumption, speculation, perception, clairvoyancy have brought the hammer down on some and not on others. If you are comfortable with that as a CLEAR message of the repercussions of exploiting the game then good luck to you. Maybe one day one or two of you will see my point. The disrespect accompanying posts aimed at me is hilarious, particularly when it demonstrates that the sender clearly doesn’t understand what I have said. As is true here. Thanks for the insult; I will add it to the list. Good day to you.

Dude your point is crystalline clear, you want either ALL be punished or NONE, dont and cant work that way, period, not in game not irl (like, who stole an apple should be punished the same of who stole 1 million dollars, they are both thief after all).

There must be lines and that is, isnt matter of hypotesys , assumptions etc etc etc, but common sense.

Sadly, your analogy demonstrates I haven’t made my point crystal clear as you have demonstrated. Indeed, someone who steals an apple is a thief and someone who steals a million pounds is a thief, but the banning issue has nothing to do with degrees of theft. The defining factor the devs have implemented is 100 thefts, 1000 gems or more. So you can’t compare different commodities like apples and a million pounds because that’s as irrelevant here as it would be in the real world. The issue is whether or not you ate any of your apples. Do you seriously think law enforcement would have a different sentencing criteria for 2 bank robbers who stole the same amount because one was arrested wearing an armani suit he had just bought from Harrods, while the other was caught in his pyjamas? No, of course not. They are equally guilty, equally culpable and should be equally punished. That’s real life.

Ofc not in your case, but sentence was gonna be the same if one of your example thiefs still got the money and the other instead donated them money to isis?

If you mean isnt right that thos ethat didnt spent got NO CONSEQUENCES at all, fine, on that one defo agree.

I would have banned everyone so the poor overworked hamsters could rest a bit for a while, or at very least erased any gem from all those accounts “over 100 but didnt spent”

Who spent made repairing their exploiting a pain in the ass for the devs, actually impossible if from those gems also other ppls got things (like from LT’s), so yeah, devs got pissed off and guess what? that’s their home and we’re guests, pretty sure if i come to YOUR house and piss you off you’re gonna throw me out with a kick too.

But if we wanna talk about assumptions, i think you lend more towards having your 2 banned friends unbanned (and the trophy’s back) than have more of your guildies, like the one that got 30k out of it (and prolly more that didnt got that much but still crossed the line of the 100) banned.

Did you kicked that DISHONEST dude who exploited the 30k gems from the guild? after all someone talking about what’s right and wrong should have high morality standards and wouldnt allow certain individuals to be on his own guild imo.

Beside, since i didnt got your point at all, explain to me, if you wasnt “crying” about trophy’s, why even mentioning them when they got ZERO to do with whole mess? it’s just a, not even new, consequence of bans.

Now let me hop on my steed and move foward too.

Come on guys 560 only im sure we can reach 600

The problem will be staying on-topic without descending into the kind of stuff that gets threads closed. We could fill up the thread with Harold memes (@Eika), but it will be a hollow victory as Salty deletes the posts and locks the thread.
