So will we be getting alternate ways to farm/create verses for GAPs? As it is farming E1s during vault weekends is going to take much longer with the animations between battles.
And the GAPs will be returning less items due to the slow explores
edit: If you tap the explore tab on the left of side of the screen during an explore run, the animation stops and the next fight pops up immediately. However, that breaks the UI and you cannot pick side quests unless you back out of the kingdom and go back in. Then side quests appear again, but the animation returns until you tap on the left-side explore tab again. lol
Not too bad of a problem if you just want to blast through explores and ignore the side quests, we shall see how it works during the next Vault event.
We lose about 2 seconds after every battle from the idiotic pathing animation on the Explore map. Over 1 typical 15 minute GAP period, we are throwing vault keys and resources out the window.
“This looks so cool, and makes Explore so much more interactive!”
They seriously need to stop wasting our time with unnecessary, flashy effects. With as much grinding that we need to do to catch up on shiny troops, gold farming, PvP, etc., we are trying to be patient, but we are already at our breaking point. (And many of us have already left).
I suppose I should be glad I’m almost at the point in the game, after just over a year playing, that I don’t need to farm traitstones that much, since that will also be a chore, ahem take more time, too. hmm.
This change is not only uncalled for (because it adds zero substance to the game) but also works against the very goal that the development sets out to achieve. Per development themselves, at least one change of the 9.3 patch is to “improve the flow of battles in the (explore) run, reducing the interruptions between battles”. This 2-second animation after every battle hinders flow of the game to the point I think the explore is borderline unplayable now. This is such a shame because time was spent to add more content to explore but I am afraid many people, me for example, will not spend time to play updated explore because of this.
Hello, whether on a computer or a smartphone, exploration has become slower due to the animation of the path between battles.
It makes me not want to keep playing.
Please, @Jeto , pass this feedback along.
Just tested it, on PS5. Nope. It’s definitely slower. It’s less time wasted than watching the full animation, but you still lose a half second or more, that you didn’t lose before.
It used to be near instant to jump from one battle to the next. It got slowed down with the new kingdom screens and the lag in game, but this update has slowed it even more.
Hmm I was tapping the explore tab on the left of side of the screen and the animation stopped and the next fight popped up immediately, but I couldnt pick side quests unless I backed out of the kingdom screen and went back in, then they show up and the animation comes back until I tap on the tab again.
Strange, guess it’s a sort of work-around.
Zuul mine is faster than before if you really mash the x button after the battles you don’t even see the animation screen see if it works for you ? Get locked out of side quests if you keep pressing button because it never moves from the first battle on the Map as you can see l’m at the boss but it’s still on first battle in animation screen
I am just going to say that, after playing this for a while, Explore 16’s rewards are going to save me a ton of time when it comes to getting medals faster to earn Elite levels for my troops. Since this means I will need to spend fewer gems specifically to increase my medal supply, I am considering this a net positive even if it means I get less vault keys going forward.
Managed to make it work, as long as you don’t mind skipping side quests, though there’s some bug reports on here saying the game crashes if you mash the buttons too fast, so be careful. Dunno if it works for the last few animations, which take the longest.
This has every chance to crash your game. If you intentionally mash buttons, and you crash your game, I cannot compensate you if it ends up causing the whole run to reset.
Mashing buttons time and time again has been reported to cause crashing or CLIFFY errors.
Step 1: add annoying animations that slow the game down
Step 2: players get frustrated and mash buttons to speed past annoying animations
Step 3: game crashes
Step 4: players are even more frustrated and annoyed by the really bad animations
Step 5: players are told not to try and skip past the animations, or else
At what step will you try to make the experience less sucky for your customers?
I mean, I get warning us not to try and skip the badly-done animation, but most people do mash buttons to skip past all the annoying nonsense in games, like the company logo screens when you start the game, or loading screens between parts of the game, and like this awful, slow, annoying animations we’re being forced to sit through over and over.
If we aren’t meant to do that, the animations shouldn’t be there. Any dev who plays games regularly should know that’s a normal gaming reflex, like seeing water the first time and jumping in to see if it kills your character. Or leaping off high objects to see if the game has fall damage.
I’ve always mashed the buttons between battles probably the reason l didn’t realize why people were complaining about it being so much slower when mine was actually faster than before and mine has never crashed from it
Yet over a week and still no fix for looking at traits
This is a BUG, I can make ONE input too fast and it brakes the UI. If you not fix the bug before the next Vault event you will drown in support tickets and forum entries.
Hi @Jeto, this should be quite simple. Please ask the devs to give us the option to turn off animations in the settings. Animations should be a choice (for anyone that wants it).
