For Playstation users the most reliable workaround is this: when the map animation starts, press L1. Wait a second or 2, then press triangle. If you did it right, all animations are skipped. Mimic battles won’t show up, so if you trigger one, press L1 then triangle to make it show up.
The equivalent of this probably works for Xbox too.
Works well. You can’t do side quests, unless you exit and re-enter each time, though, which might matter to some people.
I’ve mainly been exiting and re-entering as soon as the animation starts, to skip it. Means having to do it every time, though. That’s the annoying extra button presses that isn’t very qol.
The animations suck, they look bad, and the team making them just hates their players. They need to stop this and actually make things better or they’ll drive everyone away and then be out of a job.
We’ll get more clarity on this once they decide to EITHER remove/provide a way to disable animations, OR remove our current ability to partially skip them.
Jeto. You know if your going to have side quests, that’s fine. But no early players can do explore 16, so why are the rewards, souls, money and traitstones. Those rewards are what early to mid players need, once you pass. Level 1350 you should have that stuff imo. As I did.
So if players level over 1500 have to endure side quests, how about rewards on exp 16. Actually be beneficial.
You can’t have your cake and eat it, if we’re having to do it, give us something, astral, shiny, gold marks.
Be fair FFS.
Just like no one uses the silly genie and demon offers, no one above a certain level will do side quests. It’s not worth it. So why are your Devs, doing all this work making stuff , no one’s using.
Your like a vegan sausage roll company, no one cares .
Side quests don’t only exist at E16, to be fair. They exist at all levels, just more commonly at higher ones. Though I do agree the rewards should scale by level, with rarer stuff at higher explore levels.
And nobody is forcing you to endure them. You can skip them, you’re actually better off doing so. Though again, that seems like bad design and them having better rewards would make them more desirable, rather than players choosing to skip them so often.
Generally agreed. They might occasionally be useful in delve runs, but basically never in explore.
Popular in certain circles and raking in money? They really aren’t.
You might not like them, but vegan sausage roll companies are more liked by the people consuming their product than most modern game devs are. Let’s be fair.
(EDIT: In case you doubt vegan sausage roll companies are raking in money, the top three earned £2.15 billion, £1.38 billion and £215 million, last year. Digital Bros (who own 505 games) made about £80 million and that was from way more than just Gems Of War. In short, they wish they made as much money as Vegan Sausage Roll companies.)
In the UK vegans are less than 1 percent off population.
So few, that our famous bakers like Greggs had to stop making vegan sausage rolls, because they were losing money.
Ps. When I said endure side quests, I didn’t actually mean endure playing them. I ment endure them actually existing and taking up my time, spoiling my qol. To press past them.
Maybe I should of said it that way.
And zuul I don’t need 65 million paragraphs as a reply dude, it’s a bit anal tbh.
What’s wrong with anal?
That’s just how I am, though, chatty and wanting to accurately respond to everything you’re saying. Seems rude to me to ignore half of what someone says and just respond to one little detail. I get that’s not everyone’s thing, so not trying to be rude or whatever. Honestly, that was a short reply.
Iirc i just mashed x and ignored all side quests from beginning of the day of doing e16 and it showed no animations. Its a little finicky if you start doing any side quests tho and wants to start trying to show them to you again.
Not 100% saying this works all the time but if it starts working like that for you just keep going dont slow down to look at the trash sq
I thought there were no sq in e1 if so it wont effect verse hunting as much but likely still slow us down by some frames best case scenario
Why on earth was this garbage animation we didn’t need or asked for added? Vault weekend is all about speed, getting your battles done and onto the next. All you’ve done is make one of the only things left worth playing worse. Fantastic
Yep, I’m once again skipping this vault weekend because of the fact they’ve made using verses feel like a waste. Last time it was because of all the lagging and crashing, this time it’s because of the animations.
Can’t mash buttons to rush through because I keep getting cliffy errors, crash to desktop, or the animations break and I cant fight the last battle without leaving the region. When I try to take it slow to hunt for verses I end up seeing the select difficulty screen question twice in a row before starting a set of battles just to slow things down more. Not that I am really finding many verse anyways.
Lately I’ve noticed that the number of questions and comments have really died down in these forums, I think others like me are just losing interest or giving up. Too bad because I did like some of the changes.
I applaud your use of responding to Sighton by paragraph.
In the other thread on a similar topic he made comments about 60+ battles not being possible and calling for me and another member to post on a youtube channel.
Then when he/she/they realised they were wrong, rather than acknowledge it, they just deleted their posts. Lol.
