Droprate underspire sentinels is far too low

Dear devs, it’s so frustrating to realize every week that you haven’t been able to find a sentinel, for seven months straight. We’re also powerless because we’re limited to the weekly underspire map. Many of us will say, oh well, they’re just worthless troops, but as a collector, I think differently. I’m so frustrated that I’ve even set myself a deadline. So, at the end of the year, it’ll be a 10th anniversary celebration, or a funeral. So, dear devs, do something about the drop rate, or come up with something else, it doesn’t matter. If you don’t plan on changing anything (which is also your right), you can delete my account; you have the permission.

Totally agree. Add to that the frustration of drawing duplicates. Please do something about this.

Also, if you think this will get us to spend more gems each week, i am sorry to disappoint you that it has the opposite effect. i only do the free lanterns. if you increase the droprates and put in dupe protection, i would actually be inclined to spend.

Its annoying absolute joke, that and lack of dupe protection. Been asking about this for god knows how long but we got a nice new font. Great right?

I legitimately wonder if the drop rates were misconfigured from day 1, after all: Players have no direct line to message the team to check their work to make sure everything was inputted correctly, priorities never went back to the Underspire after the Treasure Sentinels were released (Not even to make sure everything is working right), and some people go out of their way to tell other people oh you’re just unlucky to stop any discussion.

No sane human would think a 10+ year possibility to obtain all Sentinels in a Video Game!! is a reasonable situation, but that’s the situation lined up for some people.

That’s longer than a video game console life span. That’s longer than the life span of a vast majority of every game ever… and yet… that’s one of the many possibilities.

3 Sentinels a year (if lucky) with no dupe protection going 30+ pulls like people do with dragons.

Not cool

I remember back in the days where i wanted to pull the hoard mimic from mimic chests, I literally went for 1+ year with no pulls, then I finally found one and like 3-4 more ones in a span of a couple of months, that’s just crazy RNG.

The same now with underspire, been playing since the introduction and got JUST 1 sentinel + a dupe of it (of course)… that’s insane

I understand that both have to do with RNG, but there is a very important difference, especially for the Hoard Mimic and also the dragons you can keep trying, the more you play the more likely you are to get them all. With the underspire sentinals this is different. There are only a few limited chances per week, and if the RNG gods turn against you, then you know what will happen next, right? But yes, it looks like the devs are deaf again. We don’t even get a small yes or no. :exploding_head:

If the community-sourced numbers for the drop rate of a Sentinel are accurate, a player who fully completes the Underspire and finds maximum/near-maxumum Guardian battles should – on average – find one Sentinel drop every month or so. That’s simply not very much, it’s prone to that translating to “zero Sentinels found” if you fall on the negative side of the “luck spectrum”, and it requires a substantial investment of Gems just to get that many opportunities.

Fortunately, the Sentinel is a collectible with little additional value, much like how the Hoard Mimic is a collectible with little additional value. Troop proliferation has reached a point such that these specific troops aren’t even necessary for Kingdom power progression anymore.

So you can look at the Sentinel situation and complain and make the umpteenth thread complaining about the drop rate and “demanding” the developers fix something that they clearly like the way it is because it turns into a Gem sink. Or you can look at it in a “glass half full” manner and celebrate the guaranteed drops from the dragon bosses.

I know which one is better for my mental health.

I’d be damn happy with one sentinel drop every month, the reality is 0.000000000000 sentinels for about 2k gems every week for 7 months straight. Do you understand why I’m sick of it? Also, some players have a full set just by playing free torches. And I don’t command the devs, I just ask them what they’re going to do. I simply ask for a yes or no, not that hard, right?

The Daemonic Sentinel saved me when we had a Blighted Lands GWs restriction, and The Giant Sentinel is one of the toughest troops in the game because he acts like Bone Dragon that keeps gaining life and generating a lot of mana.

The giant gems created from the sentinels are very helpful, and they keep your other troops safe if they are put at the front of your team. There are useless “trophy" troops that will never be used in the game, but the Sentinels are in that gray area of “They’re not great, but they’re not bad either.”

Most people cannot even see their purpose and hidden qualities anyway…

Really cant complain if you arent going to every possible fight every week and we know half of yall arent.

I dont disagree i just hate the pile on from people not even doing the strat right to get them.

Its throughout the whole game people like this really their own worst enemy but want to blame the game

And because half the players don’t use the correct strategy, the other half should be punished? Or what do you mean by your argument ?

Yeah I can’t imagine why someone might spend eight months at 1000+ gems a week to hit every treasure room available, come away with exactly one sentinel, then give up in frustration. But tell us more about how getting screwed by RNG means we’re not even doing the strat right.

If the source kept tracking numbers, you would have likely seen those numbers go down more. I appreciated the effort of the source, but I wish it could have gone longer, though that’s not fair to the author.

You really have to stop saying that and actually try them. Some of them end up being quite good. I understand people saying it as a coping mechanism when they don’t have them; so I won’t fault them for that, but you have the Sentinels.

The Sentinels exist though and that’s more than enough reason to consider them as enough value that it warrants attention to their unnaturally low rate. It doesn’t matter what perceived low value some people may consider them.

So basically stop bringing attention to a problem that hasn’t been acted on and just be happy the game turns on. Got it. Yeah, no.

This game would be in a worse off state if nothing was ever said. PvP, Journey, Epic Trials, Underworld, Explore, Warbands, Troop adjustments, Guild Wars, Legends Reborn, Kingdom Passes etc. A large portion of the game has been adjusted due to feedback.

I’m happy for you and your mental health, but that doesn’t give you any ground to marginalize other people’s concerns.

The sentinels have merit, as has been mentioned by others.

I’ve used all of them from time to time. One I almost always use entirely in green PvP, Elemental Sentinel. It’s perhaps the best green troop vs Savage Hunter due to its entangle if hit by skulls and stoneskin. It can’t die unless it’s stunned. Also you can make a 4 elemental green team and have some nice attack and magic buffs.

If you are hit, unless stunned, you curse the enemy. This helps on all of the sentinels for the giant gems, but also double skull damage to cursed troops is really handy.

Like the blue sentinel paired with Baldr and Onyx Giant.

I definitely got sick of it after a while :joy: The spreadsheet is publicly available, though, so anyone who wants to continue where I left off can do so (File > Make a Copy). I’ve gone ahead and added when each rarity was last updated - if someone wants to go in and continue the lower rarities, they can do so by clicking on the hyperlinked post from the main thread and beginning tracking from there. I’d love to see this project continue to develop.
