What’s confusing about that? I’m saying there are better players than me. I have a hard time doing 5-0 every day in GW too, doesn’t mean it’s impossible, lots of people do it.

It’s not confusing to me at all. Just contradictory from what I have seen.

Oh, and that’s another issue.
I’m VIP6 fully benefiting from said system, but still I maintain it should’ve never been brought in existence in its current state. Getting eliminated after three losses instead of two is fine. Some entry cost-less Arean, as you say, is also fine.
Guaranteed win - or one fight less, depending how you look at it - is just slap in the face for any free/VIP3- player.

I was okay with the new arena the first few times I played it. Seems I just got lucky on the RNG and had passable picks, though, because today the arena was just endless frustration.

I understand why they felt the need to take out weapons (dawnbringer breaks arena, and letting players use their arsenal kind of breaks the ‘all players are equal here’ theme of the arena).

However, player weapons mitigated 2 problems/shortcomings of the arena that have become painfully obvious in the revamp.

  1. Letting the players pick one of their units from a wide variety of options means at least one unit isn’t partially or completely mana blocked/blocking your other units.

  2. Even a beginners weapon can somewhat compensate for getting stuck with a sh*tty lineup because you had nothing but bad units to choose from (a lot of abilities are useless in the arena, like: do extra dmg if enemy has status x, dispel, do extra dmg to towers, and pretty much anything that focuses on getting or giving an assist to another unit).

I suspect these problems can be fixed or at least mitigated by tweaking the algorithm that determines what unit choices your offered (e.g. choices are weighted towards colors not already in the lineup) and eliminating units (from the arena roster) that aren’t effective on their own. Possibly have one unit choice where players can choose a much larger pool of options that is preset and the same for all users (e.g. all common weapons). You could make this pool change each week or month to showcase a particular kingdom or race.

What does the task look like now for those who haven’t done it?
Has it become easier? i.e. win 6 battles - you can lose one and still win 6 (max) in the new Arena.
Or has the text changed to “finish an Arena run without losing”?

You can’t just take your quickest runs and based on this count what’s max trophies per hour available. This way you completely ignore slow or failed runs (those waste a lot of time in reality!).

If you want to count this properly, then count trophies received within 1h in your video. You will be surprised how different results will be from your “estimated” values!

I actually did this for you based on your latest video!
After doing arena for 1h 3min, you gained 371 trophies (and 24 glory keys, if someone is interested in this).
That’s not even close to 600 or even 500 trophies per hour!

Some time ago, I counted my battles/hour during vault event few times, using Rowanne team on explore 3 (with controller). I was doing constantly 220-230 battles per hour, which means average 225 trophies per hour. And explore 3 isn’t even about the trophies, it’s about quick battles (to find many gnomes), good gold amount (my average gold from explore 3 is 850, so it’s 191k gold per hour with 225 battles done, but my VIP level is above 10), good class exp (225 class exp per hour), good character exp (26k exp every hour in my case), and farming this way is super easy, you can say brainless - you don’t even have to pay much attention to the board.

Those calculations were done before latest update, which fixed decreased speed bug on card details screen, so now it would be even more battles per hour!

Even ignoring the fact, trophies are almost completely useless, I’m pretty sure I could beat your 371 trophies per hour using Phoenicia team on explore 6. And, beside trophies, you will receive many other rewards from explore 6 (including small chance to find Anu token there!).

So I seriously don’t see this amazingness of current rewards from reworked Arena, even if your focus is mainly on trophies (for whatever reason).

Running in parallel with an all-day pet rescue, ensuring that one of the few remaining incentives of Arena, triggering pet rescues, is also taken away. Somebody seems to have been working really hard to make this as unpopular as possible.

It can only run on Monday (which it will) Wednesday (which it is) or Fri-Sunday.

More people would be upset if they DIDN’T run it because of the pet rescue.

I doubt I’ve done more than 20 full arena runs over the years, so forgive my ignorance: do they actually trigger pet rescues? So it is considered a subset of PvP?

Yes.

Pet gnomes in Arena used to actually be more efficient in some cases, assuming a decent team composition/weapon in the run, but then the rewards were nerfed with the removal of the hero and Class XP, so rushing through PVP fights became the only good way, basically, for almost all players.

No.

For me personally I only seem to get as my arena deals- ingots or chaos shards or crafting materials. All useless to me so I won’t be doing it anymore. Probably doesn’t help that I have most pets maxed but the deals just aren’t worth the effort.

I’ve been playing 3 arena a day to get the extra three daily offers. I got a few good deed offers with the 10% discount. I should feel grateful. Instead, I feel resentful.

Three days playing the 3 arenas a day and it’s changed my attitude on the game to a resounding meh. I never leave gems on the table and realized Friday morning that I probably didn’t finish my free sigils in the class event. Even a death in the family wouldn’t normally cause me to miss gems like that. That’s out of character for me.

I usually finish adventure board and dungeons immediately upon waking up. Today I’ve been up for 4 hours and haven’t done anything besides tribute. So, I can see the new feature’s affects on my behavior and maybe this isn’t such a bad thing. I need to focus more on writing my next 2 novels anyway.

It can be run on any day, there’s isn’t any law of nature that prevents their code to execute on Tuesday, Thursday or Sunday.

And even more people would have been happy if that Arena redesign had also finally included running scheduled and triggered pet rescues in parallel, as requested for years by the community. Instead they picked the absolutely worst day to kick this off.

Arena is the mode I played the least, I tried it on an occasion or two only. Offering 3 low level troops i already own for 450+ gems is ridiculous by design.
Before this update, we could get 2500+ souls after 8 boring fights (base difficulty).
With this update, we can get 750 souls at best after 6 long random battles ?

So…basically making soul farming impossible. I am questioning whether 505 people actually play this game, or if they get high making the F2P experience a torture for people who just want to enjoy the game modes casually.
I love the game but man I’m sad to realize I’ll never be able to complete it despite the thousand hours put into it eventually :frowning:
