If you want 5 “free” dragonite per day just for doing the dungeon, regardless of a perfect run? Assuming the odds of a perfect run are roughly 1-in-10, as they should be if the seeding of doors is truly random and the player’s selection of doors is also truly random? You’d have to be willing to give back 50 dragonite on a “perfect run” to leave the economy in its’ current balance.
And that’s a huge giveback, because 50 dragonite is nearly half of the reward for a perfect run at maximum difficulty and an even higher percentage at lower difficulty.
The other alternative to keep the game’s economy in its’ current balance would be for a massive increase in the costs of anything that dragonite could purchase. Which would then lead to increased complaints that “the dungeon has become a required activity” and “there’s too much to do!” and all that jazz.
It may not seem like much of a difference to you, but it probably would to the developers.
Giving some pity dragonite would not break the game economy. The reality is for some reason the devs keep increasing the cost of eggs with each new release which might make sense if you have been playing for 10 years but what about all of the new players. You want those new players to stick around and keep playing because it’s what keeps the game spinning but it has to be extremely frustrating to see that it may never be possible to catch up with dragons due to horrible RNG and the cost of eggs. It’s ok for something to be a long term goal but if you make the carrot so far away that it seems impossible to catch it they will simply give up.
They’re eventually going to stop releasing dragon sets (the sooner the better) and then dragonite will be a dead resource anyway. No harm in making the daily grind less frustrating. The current system hits players with disappointment upon logging in 9 days out of 10.
I’m less bugged by not getting “pity dragonite” now that it’s consistently available via the PvP shop, though the RNG of dragon eggs is super frustrating
Vault and guild tasks are also in desperate need of being updated. The game has been going on for a decade and it only makes sense that since new things to collect are being continuously added to the game that these 2 major sources of resources be updated to reflect what is currently needed by most players.
