I never regret anything, ever.
And Iâm sure someone out there is deeply impressed by that, but let me be less subtle: Try not to type something that gets you banned simply because youâre emotionally charged over an issue that is, in the grand scheme of life, not worth your inexplicably high levels of anger.
As much as i want tasks on pc/mobile, i can play xbox games like this one on my pc. As such these changes to tasks do affect me as well. The reason i play the steam version of this game over the xbox version is because of those said tasks. We have more troops yes, we also have hero-types as well sure but as far as i am aware we have less economical changing parts of the game. As someone who plays both versions @Nex is right the task change is for the good of the economy. As it stands this change is designed to slow down the gain of the 1%. The data that they see is the data showing players completing multiple tasks in a day probably multiple times a day then stop playing and later uninstalling the game. The devs have a wealth of stats they can track and @nex is only in charge of the data for tasks. Understandable that you want a change to guilds but first get your change to heros then wait to see if you still want guild tasks when pc/mobile gets it because if you have not noticed, the player base on pc/mobile is kinda scared about 2.1 and 2.2 being a horrible update.
I would have assumed that needing thousands of souls to level up troops while getting 4 per game would be a bigger deterrent, or how difficult it can be at low levels to acquire the loved legendary cards.
I am in a guild and gaining plenty of those bonuses and I complete what I believe to be a lot of tasks. However, I am still months away from levelling all kingdoms to 10 let alone raising troops levels, going mythic, getting any kingdoms over 1 gold star power or traiting any of my preferred teams. I cant imagine how many tasks need to be completed each day o break the economy; I actually donât see how its possible. Anyone putting in that effort probably deserves the rewards.
Is it at all possible to list some of the new planned tasks and rewards?
getting only 4 souls per game is insanely stupid/stingy if it werenât for tasks I doubt I woulda played this game for a whole weekâŠ
And Valkyries
Thatâs why you work through all of the challenges in each kingdom. Thousands of souls available there.
I donât know what itâs like now for new people, but I remember when I was low level, and all I had was a goblin, and I think it was boar rider, I had trouble even getting through the broken spire story, let alone to do all the challenges. Mind you that was also when battles cost gold and it was 1000 gold for an iron key and 5000 for a magic one so itâs probably a completely different experience now
I honestly have no idea what youre talking about .
Maybe I shouldnât stick my nose in, but he is saying that you have been unrelentingly negative about this entire topic, which is fine, but you made a comment to someone saying âbecause you donât know any betterâ, the tone of which was extremely dismissive (at the least), and probably offensive.
The point that the person you were replying to is totally valid: that the PC/mobile version of this game was doing just fine before the console version came out. That the PC/mobile version never had personal tasks throughout its development means that personal tasks are not the sole feature of the game that makes it worth playing, at least to many players. So you donât have the right to say that they donât know any better.
While you are clearly worked up about this and donât believe that the changes will make the game better for anyone, you still need to treat people with respect in here.
I was there just a few months ago, so I totally get that, but it was just a different problem-set. It was a real challenge to get enough souls to level up the few troops I had, moving the story along far enough to open a challenge so I could at least clear the 1,2 or 3 star challenge for the relatively big soul bonus and then trying a few times to clear the 4 and 5 stars as I got stronger. I made the stupid mistake of disenchanting my only goblin right at the beginning because I thought those 5 souls would make the difference on something, not realizing it would take me a long time before I got another one back again.
Yeah, I made the mistake of disenchantment with quite a few troops that I THOUGHT were useless
I would honestly love to see those numbers. Interpreting what those numbers might mean, however, is hotly debatable. You only have one half of the same coin. There are factors at play that Iâm sure your data is unable to collect (i.e., the other half of the same coin).
I like your idea to add and spice up the Tasks for us console players, but capping to regulate the current disparity between the rich and the poor? is unnecessary at this time. There are tasks that already do that because a player is unable to accomplish them. For example, if the player has maxed the kingdom level of every one of their kingdoms, that player canât complete Increase A Kingdom Level. Or how about someone who craft every one of their troops? They canât Forge A Trait anymore. Those are instances in which a player canât proceed to complete any task in that slot. Of course, such players have complained how unfair thatâs been, but they must have very good economies to have max themselves out of needing tasks anymore. They basically have it made no matter which guild they belong to and I highly doubt the poorer players will shed a tear for them. They certainly will when arbitrary regulations cap them from completing said tasks when their precious time permits them to.
@Mr.Strange
Will the use 4maps task be changing, staying the same or disappearing all together??
Negative? Well i have explained my critique thoroughly thats a normal thing isnt it? I really dont see where i would be angry anywhere in just explaining why cutting down the amount of replayabillity by is a mistake especially when so many people are inspired (and propelled) by tasks. I guess theres some misunderstanding here that i would be mad? I cant remember the last time i was mad about anything on a forum honestly.
Also âyou dont know any betterâ is simply factual toward the -pc side-. If you play this game on pc you dont know tasks nor the effects they have on playstyle. How is something angry read into that exactlyâŠi have no idea.
Nah i dont want any change to guilds persé, it was just a point to say if theres anything that creates an actual gap in player capital then its guilds, not a difference between active or inactive⊠besides it not being logical to reward inactive players and nerfing active players wich was the problem that arose with the new task system.
That is fair. The thing is with the tasks are currently set-up like a treadmill for players. This is what guild tasks are supposed to be. removing another treadmill from players should be a good idea as it also removes stress from the player base as a whole. Guild-updates are confirmed for pc/mobile, that means they are also by default confirmed for xbox/ps4 as well.
@wskill Youâve been passionate about a game that you clearly enjoy. I havenât interpreted your posts as angry, but as driven and assertive. Iâd hope the devs are taking your feedback seriously. I also hope they can feel some pride in the fact that they have been part of a team that has crafted a game that appeals to players as strongly as it does to you and, because of that, have some respect for your position on the matter.
Also, to the comment from @Mr.Strange about âretention weaknessâ after certain levels. Iâm sure there is a lot of data in your hands, but Iâm also guessing it is composed primarily, if not entirely, of quantitative data and lacks qualitative data. So, Iâm curious - how many people do you think are leaving the game because they canât stand how long it takes to swap teams?
I love the tasks system and have already provided feedback regarding these changes. But team swapping is required to complete many (most?) of the tasks. You still have a bug that exists in the console version of the game that is hanging for great (unacceptable, frankly) lengths of time. This bug has existed for months and has spanned patch versions. Lots and lots of time has been spent (at least by me, if nobody else) to provide as much data as possible for this single bug to be fixed. But the bug still exists.
I could be wrong, and I understand youâre trying to avoid making changes based on ideology, but I wouldnât be surprised if a Venn diagram showed us that your retention issues significantly overlap with people who find it frustrating to play the game because it hangs on them every time they want to swap their team.
They did mention that itâs a bug they canât reproduce handily yet also they did make changes to try and eliminate it. At this point, we need to await the next patch to see if it works.
