I specifically paid 15 more dollars to get Automatic Team Scouting for fire bomb farming. I don’t see any other reason to want this feature, 50 gold to scout a team is trivial. Some people don’t have all day to play and it allowed people to quickly farm up gold to pay their weekly guild dues. This change is great for people who play hours every day and never pay a cent, and terrible for paying customers with limited time. There is a toxic group of players who are proud of spending thousands of hours playing this game without supporting it financially, and they look down their noses at the people who pay to get ahead and keep the game running.
Just by glancing over this thread i’d say the majority of posters stating they are happy with the change are paying customers…
So far after playing 15 ranked battles (daily task) i only found Fire Bombs twice, and looking at the variety of teams it seems like you won’t find a team with the same two troops you faced in a previous match, but i’m not exactly collecting this data properly, just glancing over.
I believe you will enjoy PVP a little more @Kurokazna if these changes are as reliable as they seem.
Seeing fewer Fire Bomb teams overall, which is good, however I have noticed a distinct drop in Revenge/Rival fights. This may be because of the time of day but I have a feeling that fewer Revenge/Rival fights are going to be a byproduct of this code change.
Thank god the day has come that my 3-trophy match options aren’t cluttered with inane firebomb teams.
It’s indeed a grande day.
This is good to hear. Thanks for the heads up, but grinding to rank one still had me fighting a large number of Fire Bomb teams.
Also, HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAI! I fought you recently.
What? That’s not how it work at all. There are a lot of way to support the game. Free players actually created a better competition for all player base. Only toxic players are the ones that promote against players who actually play the game.
If you want easy gold that much, buy it with your money then. So you can play 30 seconds a week but still reach your guild’s gold requirements.
Anyway, I’m glad for this change. Players have been using PvP as easy gold generator for so long without putting any effort. Now battles are more challenging and everyone can get golds the way they deserved!
This is an interesting answer to the dire lack of diversity in PVP encounters.
Would be nice to know more.
You all do so much to try and make the game more fun. Thank you!
I agree with you 100%. Supporting the game, or even saying you support the game, can instantly make you a villain. I proudly support the game, and if that makes me a villain, so be it!
I don’t see it that way. If you enjoy a challenge in pvp, go for it, but putting down another player’s chosen way to play is unfair. Maybe people grinding gold don’t want it to take minutes per match. Perhaps they prefer speed over length, if that’s what they enjoy why should they be forced to have more challenge because you, and others, want more challenge?
However, more variety in pvp is a welcome addition. I think it will help people that want more challenge, and also help people that want more variety in the opponents they face. Even though there may be less Fire Bomb teams found, it’s an overall great change for the game.
But they aren’t forced. In fact there are plenty of ways to reduce the difficulty/length of their pvp games if they so desire, it is their choice.
I agree with you, but that’s not exactly what he said…
As someone who actually appreciates firebomb teams over Divines… I hope this also means less Ubastet and not just less multi-copy teams.
@Cyrup
I don’t see any clarification on what “diverse teams” mean. Is it:
A) You won’t see 3 options of the exact same team make up
B) If you play a team it won’t be given to you as an option when you go to select your next battle
C) Teams with more than one of the same troop will show up less
D) All of the above
If the answer is C or D how would it work if we spent the gems/gold to refresh the team list? For example if I just lost a match to Shimrra’s team and I want to refresh the list to until I could try to play it again, is that still possible?
Played a lot today, haven’t seen much of a difference.
And what do you think I said exactly?
Only doing Firebomb battles is actually bad for the whole economy. It promote more players to put this defense, and reduce overall variety, which is this update aimed to fix.
Playing Firebomb battle is like “Please give me some gold, I’ll wait”. It’s okay to do that from time to time, but it shouldn’t be what players always aiming to do. Playing only them is also not exactly a “way to play”.
So now, if players want challange, they can play 3-trophy battles in Ranked PvP using their best team, but if they want quick gold, they can play first 1-trophy battles in Casual PvP using their fast team instead. No more bringing 4x Pleasant farming Firebomb battle, without any effort to build a suitable team.
Also, supporting the game doesn’t make anyone a villain, but guilt-tripping free player does. Opposed other players’s opinions, only see your view as the right one, doesn’t make you a hero either.
A little irony there don’t you think? You just posted an entire one sided view.
I completely get both sides. No one should be forced to see only Firebomb and Meta teams. It can suck the fun out of the game.
However, if you want to play just a certain type of team you should still be allowed to. Acquiring a troop is subject to RNG. This means that there are many “unlucky” players out there that are unable to build 3 star teams regardless of how much money they’ve spent. Those people have to overcome their “bad luck” with skill and strategy. Farming Firebomb teams is one of those strategies. If someone is willing to spend gold rolling through teams to make more gold why is that so offensive to you?
More than one type of play style should be able to have fun. I think diversifying what you see for teams is an overall good thing, but shouldn’t be taken so far as to take the fun away from those that enjoy farming Firebombs.
I’m sorry you misunderstood my comment, it was in response to this:
I was saying I don’t agree everyone should have to play the same way, and that different people have different styles and preferences when grinding. You said Now Battles are more challenging and everyone can get golds the way they deserved that’s rather broad in suggesting everyone now has to play the same way, because you also said Players have been using PVP as easy gold generator for so long without putting effort… which implies you feel gold grinding should require effort and challenge, which is your preferred way to play… I don’t mean to come across as misrepresenting what you said.
I just don’t agree grinding gold needs to be a challenge, because some people enjoy quicker battles to longer ones.
I don’t feel like a hero, nor do I try to be a hero, except when doing Pet Rescues – those little critters need a hero…
I’m not sure where I guilt-tripped you, or made you feel being a free to play player makes you a bad guy… However, i have seen people refer to the people that support the game as “the pay to win crowd” and other not so nice terms. So, I feel sometimes supporting the game is frowned upon by some people, vs not supporting the game.
Those that still want to farm bomb teams still have that ability. It just won’t be as easy as before. The devs could have nerfed fire bombs to get rid of it. As it is, they came up with the best compromise solution. They avoided nerfing a card that was already nerfed offensively by the overall explosion nerf, and they gave people that actually wanted ranked PVP to resemble a fight mode a reprieve from seeing mindless fire bombs in the majority of their 3-trophy fights.
Assuming this is actually about Fire Bombs and gold farming, would a team score penalty for repeated troops have accomplished similar goals? It makes 4x Fire Bomb teams less likely to appear as 3-trophy teams (since it’s now easier for another of the randomly drawn teams to have a higher score). To the point about gold farming, it would also result in less gold per match since that is based on the team score separately from the trophy status.
