Card redesign difficult for accessibility

The reading difficulty is out of hand, I backed my graphics down to Atari specs to make it readable, but hey the devs know best right?

I hated the 7.0 redesign of the troops the minute the update dropped. I thought things were hard to read now at home on my PS4 and 65 inch TV. But now that Iā€™m back in the hospital and forced to use the remote play app on my lil fifty dollar straight talk Samsung phone, itā€™s a thousand times worseā€¦

I posted this quick mock-up in another thread a while ago. I think moving a few things around, making the numbers slightly bigger, and always placed against a better background for their color would basically fix this without major changes to the new design.

Mana numbers MUST be in the coloured circle again like they used to. And traits MUST be displayed like they have been as well. So you can actually see them without looking further into the troops. Everything else is not acceptable ā€¦

Just saw the new version and I only have one more thing to say on this subject because Iā€™m so tired.

Someone should really consider testing the game on mobile likeā€¦ ever.

That new stat font is bad. Was it picked at random? Why was it changed at all when all we needed was a size increase?

I need to put the game on full screen on a 17ā€™ā€™ screen to start seeing the new stats. The new font is NOT better. If anything, itā€™s worse. Distinguishing between 68 and 66 - impossible without squinting. 80 and 90 look the same. 96 and 59 - nearly identical. Green on green - still bad, making the font chunkier didnā€™t help one bit. Flashing - still present, with an extra source of flashing on the mana bubble added.

Mana values back to the mana bubble - great, now we need the old font back, the pre-7.0 one. We used to have the values on the bubble and it was perfectly legible, we donā€™t need this extra thick font there. The old one would fit on the bubble, now numbers such as 16/18 donā€™t fit and stick outside the bubble. Why?

Please, devs. Donā€™t give us band-aids. Give us SOLUTIONS. Band-aids wonā€™t do.

Iā€™m no expert on typography but what is that, Impact Bold or somesuch? Its line weight is WAY too thick.

It looks a lot like Impact to me but Iā€™m pretty sure it isnā€™t. But itā€™s horrible for both readability and consistency with the game.

Edit: Actuatly the more I look at it, maybe it is Impact.

Yeah, it has strong I CAN HAS CHEEZBURGER resonance for me.

I donā€™t like it at all; itā€™s too heavyweight so it devolves into featureless blobs when viewed at distance; and itā€™s too different a style from the other text on the battle screen.

Do we really need all these flashing lights?! Can we get an option to disable them as festive themes?

Just wanted to say thanks for fixing the numbers so I can read them. Itā€™s a shame itā€™s all so ugly, though. The old GUI was better in every way.

I also wished to thank the devs for the font improvements. I can actually READ the skill and mana numbers again. I appreciate your follow-up on this mater. Far better late than never, as they say.
