I thought that as well but then figured I’d get flamed for suggesting it because then we’d have two days in a row where pet gnomes wouldn’t trigger.
That’s why I think that the multiple pet rescue idea could work well
It would also allow for a bit of future proofing as more and more pets get release, having a structure that would allow, 2+ consecutive rescues would be a useful framework
Alternatively the option to choose from 2+ pets would be another possible way (and this could be extended to classes and possibly even factions in the future)
