This mythic makes no sense to me… instant shelf filler i guess

Does this have something to do with the Finnish mythology Liekkiö or where does the name come from?

I think you are into something. Liekki means flame in finnish. Mythology or not, kinda cool!

It just doesn’t look like the embodiment of dead children who were secretly buried in the woods… But as fairytales go, it also has some “softer” background stories.

lol wut? This is a tier 1.5 heavy hitter.

Just imagine if the original boost ratio remained intact. (The devs hit it with the nerf bat a few days ago.)

What’s “original” boost ratio? x1.5? x2? I’m glad those ridiculous ratio do not survive into actual release. x1 magic + x1 life to two targets is already very strong. The troop is not OP only because it has no self recharging and looping potential.

Is it bugged? Can not see extra turn.
okay, now got her on my own, extra turn is only when choosing entangle, just bad wording on the preview

Remember when they released mythics worth using? Yeah me neither

Its life and armor. And its 3rd trait looks like something from this game’s early days. Theres nothing useful about this mythic.

Its 3rd trait can be empty and it is still very strong, because of its spell damage [(1x magic + 1x life +2) to last 2 enemies].

But its in a kingdom competing with stellarix

So? You are comparing a normal mythic with an ultimate dragon. That’s already a great thumb up to that normal mythic.
And Liekki’s damage to 3rd and 4th troop is comparable to stellarix’s too. Stellarix does to all, but so negatable by submerge. A webbed stellarix does little damage, while a webbed liekki does more than 70% of its total damage. The only thing stellarix crush over liekki is its self recharge and loop potential.

People need to put Mythics into context. And the developers clearly do not, and will never ever understand how we would actually use them in practice.

Wand of Stars and Dragonite dragons overpower everything. That is fine (I guess). But for Kingdom and Troop Type restrictions, Mythics need to stand out because there are too many missed opportunities.

Vulpacea restrictions? Stellarix and Vulpine Fangs will overpower everything. Liekki does not provide the support that Fenix gives, so it is completely useless in that context.

Elemental and Fey restrictions? Same thing. Chrysantherax and a good variety of Fey troops leave this new mythic in the dust. There are hardly any troops to take advantage of the ability to entangle all enemies (without curse) and an extra turn with spell damage is good, not great.

With the final trait being so outdated and useless, there are no redeeming qualities for this troop. There are many Epic troops that are better than this, and this “mythic” will only be useful for kingdom experience.

Darkborne put it so succinctly that no further input is required

Of course stella and chrys overpower liekki by a great amount (due to self charging and looping potential). They are ultimate dragons. The cost of getting them is significantly higher than getting liekki. I’d argue they need to be balanced by adding “boss” classification at least, but that’s another topic.

As for fey, is there any fey troop can deal 4x magic damage to 2 targets, or comparably 2x magic true damage to 2 targets (yes, that’s takshaka’s level)? Liekki can. People seem to have no idea how powerful 1x life boost ratio is. By the way, its extra turn doesn’t come with damage, just with healing option.

The original paradigm shown on the spoilers pages had it at x2. Which probably would have let it one-shot an awful lot of stuff, even if the other team was using Submerge as a defense against the egg dragons.

Obviously. Whoever come up with such ridiculous boost ratio should never work on troop design. I’m glad it’s axed before going live.

@Risa I tried to put this new mythic into simple terms, so that people can look at what use troops can have in particular restrictions.

A Vulpacea restriction is pretty much locked up. Adding Liekki to your team actually makes it worse because Stellarix can take care of everything and just needs mana generation with a supporting weapon and troops.

Elemental restrictions are pretty much locked up for the same reason. Chrysantherax, Hero, Emberclaw, Maraji Queen, etc. This is probably never going to change.

Liekki might…and I mean might have a use for Fey restrictions. But you have to do a lot of work to make that happen. It is true that her damage can get by submerge and deals a decent amount of damage, and she can heal herself (but if you choose this, you’re probably in a losing position anyway). Yet, Immortal Glaycia does more damage anyway because it is true damage that hits 5 times, and other Fey troops are just easier to use.

If Liekki stole life from the last 2 troops (with a reduced boost ratio of 2:1), now she has some more potential and can keep getting stronger while securing easier kills. Her final trait should have been “Give all elemental allies 2 magic and 2 life when matching 4 or more gems.”

Now you have something. And you have troop that has a unique purpose and is not overpowered. Another dream that will vanish in the forums.:beer_mug:
