That’s the whole point of vip chests you know. . And having different odds for paying and free players would fast turn all the free players away. Game can’t live without paying plays. True. Game can’t live without free players either. They are the majority of the player base and it would be quite empty without them. That’s the case in any game. So a healthy difference has to be made, but if the line is passed it goes to negative opinions very fast.
Personally I’m in that unfortunate spot where I’ve spent money but not enough for VIP chests. I spent right around $60. I instantly regretted spending that money so I will not be spending anymore unless something changes. The value your real money gets you in this game is absurdly bad, honestly. Not worth it in the slightest to me.
So, I actually am a free to play player for the past few months. I still think that people who throw away their money into this game should have more rights than us and better drop rates. VIP levels are decent but in order to gain ranks you have to spend an incredible sum of money for very little in return.
If it doesn’t feel worth it, people won’t do it. Everyone has a different line. Mine is reasonably low because I’m a “normal” gamer that is used to spending $60-$100 on a game and actually expect getting a great amount of content for it.
Anyways my point is that I’m not even the type of player I’m vouching for in my last post because I haven’t spent enough.
I’ve been playing for almost two years now. I do occasionally purchase thing to show my support for the game.
But yea… in term of money-value ratio… what we get from the game for the money we put into IS kinda pitiful. I think it would be better as a financial strategy to either make things cheaper, or improve the quality of merchandise for the amount of money we give.
I’m usually a free player when I can but, like in this case, I have in my hands a Game that is really addicting to me and is worth my money, I use them more than gladly.
Is my way to say “thank you” to the developers of the game, not for being better than other players; choosing to give some of my money to devs, do not rise me up above anyone.
I totally agree that without money there won’t be any developer and so any game, but before complaining, try to collect information of what your money can do in game instead of stamp feet on the floor.
Devs seems too much afraid that their game will be seen as a P2W game…
It’s for me the only reason why the packs are so light: for 50$, one legendary that you cannot “fulled” (no extra copy, no enough traitstone), really?
The new avatar packs could be interesting if both sex were included: I know it’s free, etc but it just seems to me a pack where something is missing. Why only one sex?
I want to thank this game with dollars but not for something meaningless.
Once again, I propose alternative picture for troops that can be bought with $. Maybe one day I will an answer from devs about this idea ;-).
I disagree. Access to VIP chests is the main perk and you get that fairly early on.
I like this idea. Fully in favour of cosmetic cash purchases, as (1) it should consistently make money and (2) I am vain and dumb enough to want them all!
Gems of War owes you nothing and neither so the Devs. I have opened about 40k+ keys and 20k+ gems trying to get War. Do you see me complain on the fourms?
No because thats called rng its fun
Well, I’m not planning on throwing away over a hundred more dollars on a gamble bundle just to unlock VIP chests where you need more of the gamble currency to even utilize. $160+ just to get VIP chest access? I’d rather buy a new game without free to play cash grabs. Obviously nothing this game adds to the store will equate to that value, but there should be something a bit more reasonable
If no one else sees any of that as being overpriced and low value, I don’t mind. They can continue to spend money and I’ll just stay free to play. Not really of any concern to me.
I only complain because I would like to spend money and feel like I’m getting good value for my purchase and not instant buyers remorse. I am grateful their free to play is fair. One of the most fair free to play games.
I never thought I’d be the one to complain about not having good enough stuff to spend money on. Normally there’s a plethora of goodies that I want and have to have massive control to prevent me from going crazy and buying the whole store, but in this game there isn’t a single thing I want
(I feel like that’s a problem - but what do I know?)
We are straying off-topic somewhat, though it’s been a while since we had a decent P2W debate on here
I do look at it over time though: I have spent cash in this game, but since I started playing, I stopped buying other games or console games any way near as much as I used to…
Back on topic: Gard is feeling pretty darned strong, possibly too much so!
My opinion: Gard’s spell my be a touch too strong; doing 120+ total damage per cast for me. He is a fantastic counter to the Horsemen. Pairing him with Alchemist / Hellcat is fast and lethal, but has occasional trouble against Mab.
(SIdenote: I see the p2w argument come up a lot in Steam reviews. But I think you’re going to get that no matter how fair your shop is.)
This team is destroying literally everything in pvp, Havn’t lost a game yet and it was easily the best team against the Manticore/Manticore/DB/BD team.
200 guild keys, 1000 gem keys, no Gard. Well, it was worth a try. On the bright side, I guess I’m now cured from gambling against infinitesimal odds, it will take several months to collect that many resources again.
