9.2 Maths Corner

Just some key maths details from the post: 9.2 Crystal Kingdom: A Deep Dive! - Official News - Gems of War | Forums so we can work out what the best strategies are, going into the update. Please keep this to that topic. If you want to discuss the update generally, post in the main topic, as linked above.

Hopefully having a post just focused on the exact numbers will be helpful to people, rather than having to scroll through the whole post, looking for them.
People add any working out you have, that might be helpful, below. Thanks.

From what I understand of the population system, you can only buy the next kingdom prestige level if your global population is high enough (the right column), which means your other kingdoms are a high enough prestige level.
And leveling up a kingdom is how you raise that global population. Each level gives a set amount of population (the middle column)
To level a kingdom up to level 50, for example, you need 1 million global population. We have 37 kingdoms. So, removing the one currently at level 49, the other 36 need to provide about 26,389 each. That means you need them to be about level 42 and 43. If they’re at that level, you can upgrade the level 49 to level 50 (with the right amount of xp/crystals). If not you can’t.

Leveling up kingdoms costs.
Gold-Only Levels (1 to 10)

  • Level 2: 500 Gold
  • Level 3: 1,000 Gold
  • Level 4: 2,000 Gold
  • Level 5: 4,000 Gold
  • Level 6: 8,000 Gold
  • Level 7: 15,000 Gold
  • Level 8: 22,000 Gold
  • Level 9: 30,000 Gold
  • Level 10: 40,000 Gold

Since gold is easier to get than crystals, it is advisable to level all kingdoms up to at least 10 before the update.

Advanced Levels (11 to 20)

  • Level 11: 55,000 Gold + 2 Color Deeds
  • Level 12: 75,000 Gold + 4 Color Deeds
  • Level 13: 100,000 Gold + 6 Color Deeds
  • Level 14: 140,000 Gold + 8 Color Deeds + 1 Imperial Deed
  • Level 15: 200,000 Gold + 10 Color Deeds + 3 Imperial Deeds
  • Level 16: 300,000 Gold + 3 Imperial Deeds + 2 Books of Deeds
  • Level 17: 400,000 Gold + 4 Imperial Deeds + 4 Books of Deeds
  • Level 18: 500,000 Gold + 5 Imperial Deeds + 6 Books of Deeds
  • Level 19: 840,000 Gold + 7 Imperial Deeds + 8 Books of Deeds
  • Level 20: 1,000,000 Gold + 10 Imperial Deeds + 10 Books of Deeds

Converting these values into the conversion table (3 deeds=1 coloured crystal, 1 book=16 coloured crystals, 4 imperial deeds=1 rainbow crystal) gives the following:

  • Level 11: 55,000 Gold + 1 colour crystal
  • Level 12: 75,000 Gold + 2 colour crystal
  • Level 13: 100,000 Gold + 2 colour crystal
  • Level 14: 140,000 Gold + 3 colour crystal + 1 rainbow crystal
  • Level 15: 200,000 Gold + 4 colour crystal + 1 rainbow crystal
  • Level 16: 300,000 Gold + 1 rainbow crystal + 32 colour crystal
  • Level 17: 400,000 Gold + 1 rainbow crystal + 64 colour crystal
  • Level 18: 500,000 Gold + 2 rainbow crystal + 96 colour crystal
  • Level 19: 840,000 Gold + 2 rainbow crystal + 128 colour crystal
  • Level 20: 1,000,000 Gold + 3 rainbow crystal + 160 colour crystal

Since we can also see what the return is from leveling up, here:

We can calculate what kingdom xp we get compared to what we’d get as a straight conversion:
Level___________Conversion___________Upgrade Value

  • Level 11: 100_____820
  • Level 12: 200_____820
  • Level 13: 200_____820
  • Level 14: 900_____820
  • Level 15: 1000_____820
  • Level 16: 3800_____2000
  • Level 17: 7000_____2000
  • Level 18: 10800_____2000
  • Level 19: 14000_____2000
  • Level 20: 17800_____2000

As you can see, up to level 13, there is a net advantage to leveling up the kingdom BEFORE the update. Beyond level 13, there is a net disadvantage at every single level. If your kingdom is level 13 or above already, you should NOT upgrade it before the update to 9.2 or you will be worse off as a result.
(Disclaimer. Values are rounded up for conversion. If you convert more than the listed value, these values will not be as accurate.)

Trying to get more exact values without rounding up, would give the following values:

  • Level 11: 66xp_____820
  • Level 12: 133xp_____820
  • Level 13: 200xp_____820
  • Level 14: 416xp_____820
  • Level 15: 1383xp_____820
  • Level 16: 3650xp_____2000
  • Level 17: 7000xp_____2000
  • Level 18: 10350xp_____2000
  • Level 19: 13850xp_____2000
  • Level 20: 17500xp_____2000

So, assuming you had a stockpile of deeds, books and imperial deeds, so rounding off wasn’t a factor, the point at which upgrading is no longer advised would be raised to above level 14. Beyond that point, you are always worse off if you upgrade before 9.2

Disclaimer: It’s worth pointing out that for a player to determine the best course of action between level 11 and 14, they should look at their current totals and what their totals will be if they go ahead with upgrading, as the fact values are founded up means what would be advised generally might not be best for a specific player.

You the goat.

Can i ask. When converted, are our team stats.

Better or worse, so atm we get a couple of magic or life ect at max kingdom level. When converted. Are we more or less of specific stat.

Cheers if you know Zuul :clinking_beer_mugs:

Under the current system we get stat points at kingdom levels: 10,15,20 and power levels: 5,10,20,30
Under the new system we will get stat points at levels: 5,10,15,20,30,40,50, then every 10 after that but that’s not affected by conversion.
So, the conversion maths is kinda wonky, but I think we get the same stats earlier. It would depend what combination of kingdom and power level you had, but I think you should be the same or better, never worse.

I dont know if this is in the blog.

But, this new currency, looks like its forever, and will be needed forever.

So can we have, some conversions in forge for:

Souls, ingots, curse runes, diamonds, gems, chaos shards. So we can get rid of 10s of thousands of useless things . Especially ingots.

Seriously? That’s crazy.

You’d probably need to request that in the blog, or as a feedback post. Doubt we’ll get that any time soon, but maybe at some point. Would be nice to get less currencies. I was hoping that was the point of this update, but I think we will wind up with around 30 more than before, so that failed.
