Team order can be changed
What can I say…
Not much to say about the rest - we’ll wait and see what changes to Kingdom Pass and Campaign bring (although, with task reroll available there was no real need to change campaign); plus, it seems it seems that you’ve changed some insignificant things about Adventurer’s Path (World Quests) instead of tackling serious issues like huge difficulty spike for Medals quest, illogical quest timeline with Medals to be unlocked before Explore and such.
Moving on to Trials…
Will second and any other subsequent playthrough of Epic Trials also give free pet copies and/or offer to buy five for 200 gems like the first playthrough?
This is important piece of information that should not be left without answer and attention; likewise - will there be a Zendesk help article explaining Trials? If yes - when it will go live? If not - why not? (Although, considering that so far you’ve successfully ignored repeated assurances to set right all the mess and false information that currently can be found there…)
Now, for the elephant in the room:
Would you - your team -, by any chance, care to set up a live stream and demonstrate supposed different play Styles in action with full commentary?
It seems like a general consensus that being forced to use pre-selected team with only shuffling the same card around effectively kills possibilities to cater different playstyles instead of supporting them. Unless there is backing up the above statement with action, no lame excuses, one would assume that the authors of said statement either
A) lack teambuilding and gameplay knowledge
B) consider us gullible fools
C) mixture of both aforementioned points.
Honestly, there is not a single positive thing to be said about Trials, not a single positive thing that Trials do.
Challenges were fine and no player asked for them to be reworked (well, maybe those mythical players that contact you in private because they are afraid of vicious harassment if speaking on the forum).
What you have effectively done now is:
- made them impossible to tackle at each player’s own pace and leisure;
- made them boring, frustrating, too time consuming RNG-slog without a hint of teambuilding and playing skill involved.
If you insist on “kingdom theme” (which is not particularly bright idea anyhow) players should be free to pick their own lineup (and with kingdom hero class included) instead of some junk forced upon them by somebody unlikely to teamuild their way out of anything sturdier than a paper bag.
(Yes, I fired up my rarely used baby account and looked at all the new Trials…phew, takes some serious sick skill to come up with those - 3 purple troops with minus purple banner; no brown troops with plus brown banner; mana blocking all over the place…just to name a few off the top of my head.)
As it stands at the moment - Trials are 100% wasted effort and resources.
This one here in Vulpacea is a GOOD trial team. Did you see those in other kingdoms?
If we can only repeat epic trials during that event kingdom week then we run into that same issue of kingdom rotation and having to wait over 400 days, Darkstone for example, to come around again.
This. And also the assertion in the release notes that the Trials “teach game mechanics”. What?
This whole trial thing is an utter mess. The Devs are now asking newer players to spend more time, effort and frustration for a reward that an older player earned in a fraction of the time. Used to be able to use any troop and a hero (which helped level classes). I understand the principle, use blighted lands team to beat trials. However in practice this is awful. Trials should take place after challenges are completed (like delves take place after finishing mini campaign). Make the trials work like events, allow a hero but limit the weapon and troops to that kingdom. The starry pet is going to take so long to get to mythic, i completed this one and got 6. You need 31 in total to get it mythic. A rotation is going to take 36+ weeks x5/6 successful completions, unless you spend gems. Once again another update that furthers the gap between new and older players.
When I completed the trials they went up to level 500. Finally a little challenge. Now they max out at lv 350. I do wish I did not spend 1k gems on that pet though. I wanted to stop buying it, but there were no accept or decline buttons and I was in a hurry to get the trophy.
Has anybody seen a battlecrasher since update 6.9? I’m on Switch.
The problem is that this mode REPLACED challenges which alot of players were INVESTING in for godsake…
There is a certain percentage of players that only play pvp or GW or explore and only care about the 1 or 2 game modes they play and nothing else matters. As long as they can use the same team they always use to play the 1 or 2 modes and still spend money they will be happy.
What a mess the Trials are. Get a bunch of lame troops to entice you into spending gems, etc. on troops you have no real interest in using and then have to go against a biased overpowered AI set. All so that you can spend more currency on other stuff you probably don’t want.
Just to rub salt…
Notice our old friend Lycanthropy gems appears in Vulpacea Trials. Oh and freeze gems.
Hohoho the fun!
Do you want “fun”? How about all of us f2p players who have to run that Vulpaecea trial without a traited Hunter and therefore don’t even have the option to stick him in front to tank for us. Because the Hunter hasn’t yet been made available to those of us who aren’t paying real money.
Even so, I managed to beat the five epic battles for the trophy – 3 last night before the reduction in levels, the final 2 today. But it wasn’t a whole lot of fun and it’s not something I’m inclined to do again.
There is still an agreement. I’m sorry that don’t fully remember what it entailed for gems. My beta test was April 21 so you may understand that I forgot the details.
People are definitely allowed to say they’re testing, but with the amount of attacks from players for things that aren’t their fault, I don’t begrudge anyone not saying anything at all.
Point still stands: what good does it do to spoil what’s coming when no complaining, constructive feedback, anger, ideas, feedback, or anything else but minor fixes will ever make it into the actual game?
I know from people that troop sorting for the trials was about the only thing they could achieve - and beta testers didn’t like trials, either.
But what good does it do? I can’t remember all the things we brought up but it was a lot - it was the Uber doomskulls update BTW. I for example, disliked the temr Uber doomskulls and said so. All I can think of is the Uber services.
It wasn’t even commented on. And would it have changed anything if they were called, I dunno, mega doomskulls? Does it change anything about my involvement in the beta that you know that now?
Amazing how every major update is worse compared to the previous major update and there’s still people that are looking forward to future updates.
But hey, at least we’ve got a minimum of forum activity from the “moderators”, isn’t that nice?
Just one question:
What about just fixing community mentioned “problems” of the game for major update 7.0? For once really working “with” and also “for” the community to improve the game.
Outrageous idea, I know…
No. Über is a German word. Uber is an anglicized word with German origins.
I still think it sounds stupid, especially in a fantasy setting. So I brought it up in the Beta.
I think the kingdom pass update sounds like a positive.
I’ll hold back judgement on the campaign.
You’d be flagged less if you’d throw around fewer insults. You can have a different point of view - which you don’t even have this time - without using expletives or trying to antagonize other players.
Hope dies last.
It was sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me.
A tongue has no bones and still can break your back, macho man.
This was around when world wars were won.
And also lost. Your point?
I have a feeling next Monday is going to be … interesting.
