Question: do pet gnomes replace treasure gnomes, or is it an additional roll? If it’s separate, is it possible to get both gnomes in the same battle?

Doomskulls do 5 damage for each but do they do double with slayer traits? Will they do less than 5 vs a Gorgotha?

My Gob-Chomper has 30 attack I matched 2 doomskulls and a regular skull and did 82 damage.

This update has got to really suck for lower level players that probably can’t even get past the 4th or 5th battle. I’m glad I went back to my level 1200 account.

This is what I have been using and so far haven’t lost a battle with it. With Bard giving Infernus and Dawnbringer magic each turn and Diviner sometimes giving magic as well it doesn’t take long until they are doing over 50 damage.

Since GW… All the updates target end gamers. Sorry newbies. The rest of the game is for them. If they really want pets. They can use 175 gems to get them.

I love the update, but 5% XP bonus on Lvl 20 (Pet: Lucky) is a joke. It`s so damn hard to get to lvl 20 and then just 5%?! No thanks.

Please rethink the pet bonuses…

Divine teams can do it if you have Infernus and Ishbaala. Yao Guai can do it too as he ramps up his magic to do massive damage and can sit nicely behind gorgotha and azura. Or, as Jainus suggests, a loop team works fine. Can’t lose the game if you never lose the turn.

I hope that was sarcasm, because it would take a lot for a newbie in a small guild to get that many gems. And there’s definitely a lot better things for them to spend it on than a random pet. Especially, one that will take them forever to max out anyway.

After having played a bit I must confess I really like Pet Events. The fights felt tough while still doable with some team tweaking, and the rewards were well worth it. It might eventually get stale, I really had a blast pet hunting most of yesterday though. Some thoughts:

  • Event notification. As far as I can tell I have to finish a battle to get notified about ongoing pet events. That’s pretty awkward, there should be an easier in-game way to learn about the event. Maybe at least update the Pet Rescue tile on entering the Games section? And possibly show the event notification at that point?

  • Cooldown timer. I find it actually keeps me from playing at all, because I might be wasting a pet gnome. Yes, there are technically an unlimited number of them, it still feels bad to encounter one while not being able to trigger a pet event. Maybe throw in one pet along with the food as consolation price? Just for the player killing the pet gnome, not for the whole guild?

  • Pet targeting. It looks like it’s going to be RNG pain to catch any one specific pet you might be interested in. Especially whenever new pets added to the pool. There’s a Weight attribute in the pet table, which probably means that new pets will have a significantly increased pop rate on release, but that’s just going to make finding older missing pets even more unlikely. Maybe take the roster of the player initiating the pet event into account and make the pet appearing one of least owned? That should also add an incentive to go searching for pet gnomes yourself instead of waiting for guild members to do it.

The drop chance from baskets seems to be fairly high. And you get a few of those from the easier battles.

You can always wait for the current rescue to finish before completing the battle. Doing so will trigger a new pet event. I’ve done that twice.

All the skull spam teams just got a buff thanks to the doomskulls…
Divine teams are so annoying right now I’ll have to put stonehammer in every team.

I’m level 1031 and absolutely beside myself with frustration… which is the exact opposite of why I even started this game. The last battle has been impossible to beat, and I have to go to work. I feel like its another event locking out players who are still trying to build their troops and enjoy the game.

It seems higher when you are using full board clearers like Gorgotha multiple time in a row, I like the addition but they seem too prevalent as the game progresses.

IF it is really 10% then sign me up for 5%.

Work on your team composition, at that level you should be steamrolling most opposition. If everything fails, throw in some Devour troops. If it triggers, you’ve most likely won, if it doesn’t, restart the fight.

Well, yeah, I appreciate the idea but that definitely keeps me from playing at all. Even other games, considering how GoW tends to hijack controller input when left running in the background. :grimacing:

I got ‘1% gold’ with the image of a trait stone from gold chests. Is this a visual bug? Have never seen it before.

Guys, if you have a hard time with pet battle, use Devour/Deathmark/Instakill mechanics. I finished all 8 battle under 7 minutes.
