I also had the opportunity to buy a 2nd pack, however buying one for a day was enough.
It will take you 6 months
400$ will take you 2 months if you don’t count dungeon or LT diamond
Welcome to the console AI! Home to broken controllers and what not!
Right, if you don’t. The calculation is for one additional mythic over what you would normally earn, irrespective of all other factors. I recommend Diamonds on Sunday because, with respect to targeting mythics, they have a higher purchasing power versus opportunity cost of gems spent on average, even for VIP5 - 50 gems is about 0.011 mythics when used in VIP chests, and 84 diamonds is about 0.021 mythics (but without other incidental drops that would normally come with VIP) . You’ll get more mythics total per gems spent if you use them for Gem Bounty on Sunday. You’ll get less mythics total if you buy Gem Bounty on other days (with respect to VIP5, slightly better than without still), as well as miss out on a ton of drops from the chests you would have open and force you into a waiting situation.
If you want the numbers with what we get, factoring in just what we know so far:
monday-saturday - 24 diamonds per day (on average, random, max 64, min 4)
sunday - 74 diamonds, all guaranteed
218 diamonds/week avg
18-19 weeks gets you a mythic, for “free”
84 from the gem bounty on Sunday, for 50 gems, for a total of 302 per week at -50 gems
13-14 weeks gets you a mythic at 650-700 gems spent
160 diamonds per week from the $5 pack on Sunday, for a total of 462/wk at -50 gems and $5
8-9 weeks gets you a mythic, having spent 400-450 gems and $40 to $45
If you are running a daily gems pack during this period, it will still be 8-9 weeks, having spent $60-70 and having an additional 440-495 gems (rather than deficit) at the end of this time period
The time table will be slightly quicker when we know the task numbers (guild tasks will reportedly give diamonds by the way, not LTs). At the same, it has to be considered that at least part of this purchasing power would have to cover what has been lost in guild tasks, hence, you aren’t likely to be getting an “extra” mythic every 18 or 19 weeks. It is far more likely that the rebalance will put you behind where you were with respect to how many mythics you were getting per month if you were VIP and over without VIP, but over time you can divert some of the resources you would have spent getting a new one to crafting an old one instead. And this is perfectly fine, so long as those numbers for VIP5 are at least comparable post change, AND it is reasonable to obtain at least 1.0 mythics per month counting both crafting and keys, without cash purchases. For that, we need Monday’s task numbers.
If you wanted to accelerate beyond that, it would be on you, but the conversion rates trying to get diamonds on any other day rather than Sunday look terrible, which was why initial projections based on that data were so grim. It would be the equivalent of buying raw gems with cash to use in Gem or VIP chests to try and get a random mythic by throwing keys at it versus paying buying the $50 Path To Glory and waiting 30 days. All of the shop purchases have wildly varying values, so this is nothing new.
I’m glad skull baiting the ai isn’t an option, but even if it was, it’d make very little difference to the rampaging cascades that ultimately destroy your team. Today I lost /retreated 9 games in a row. Never had that many losses strung together but psion, ds, and famine… Bastard FAMINE!! Just fills in one cast every single time and after the gems have stopped falling there’s an extra ai turn probably 90% of the time.
Why they just didn’t make him 25 or 26 even, is beyond me. The twat uses less mana than the great maw ffs. Today was a very shitty day. I played 10 gw and won 6. A couple of games I may as well have taken my turn and gone to make a brew. My Mrs hates the game now unfortunately, even though she’s in a top guild she just doesn’t enjoy playing anymore, in fact she probably enjoys the arena more than anything, and that’s telling you something!
26h before the critic update goes live on console
Famine seems to have a built in queen aurora the way it effortlessly fills even with no mana generators and might as well be a goblin the way he finds extra turns
A lot of stuff to look forward to, brudda.
JUST THAT!!! why is to hard to grasp for the Devs?
Can we get some type of official response regarding the feedback on legendary tasks once you have time to review them all just we know you are listening and know how we all feel.
Please give something this is not one of those moments where silence will allow it to work itself out.
And a response to the basic guild task nerf!
3.1 re-balances the game away from mega-guilds filled with high level end game players to casual guilds with a mix of high and low level players. This is probably good for the long term health of the game as guild tasks and guild wars was forcing high level end game players to leave casual guilds for the mega-guilds. In the new 3.1 economy, the humble gold chest now has value since you can now not only get gems and glory but also raw materials for your soul forge. Spamming gold chests is therefore now an alternative way of playing the game as opposed to joining a mega-guild and donating everything.
On RNG, the AI upgrade seems to be probabilistic in nature. The algorithm seems to deploy gem drop probability much more efficiently than the previous algorithm. And unlike the previous algorithm where taking a skull was a hard coded action, the new algorithm appears to allow for over riding of taking a skull if the probability of a favorable drop is high enough. This increased efficiency based on probability gives the impression that the AI is cheating since it gets “lucky” very often. IMHO this no more cheating than using probability to determine whether you should hold or fold when playing poker. And like poker the better you are at figuring the odds the more likely you are to win ! On average, my loss rate has increased from 1% to 10% thanks to the new AI. The higher loss rate is balanced off by the fact that the 4x animation speed has increased the rate I acquire gold by more than 200%. Overall, this appears to be a more than fair trade off.
Either they ninjafixed it or it is bug, because after reloading the game, you cannot buy anymore packs (had some free steam money and i need tds really badly as new player…) after buying one
Maybe they did fix the real money daily dungeon pack. Today I didn’t even get what I paid for! lol
well since now the main source of gems is in guild wars - and only in the top ranks - im not agreeing here with you at all. i think it possibly will become even less healthy (more guild-jumping to the high ranked guilds)
I 100% agree. As it is, I am now running a gem deficit for weekly costs (GW statues and Soulforge), let alone the need to purchase mythics or other things with gems. Without jumping ship to a really high performing guild for wars, and sacrificing any shred of spare time to this game, I’m not going to keep up.
I’d love to see the math of how long it takes to get a mythic for just dungeons, dungeons + tasks, & dungeons + tasks + gems + $5 offer. That’s basically “casual”, “F2P grinder”, and “max”.
A casual player won’t play the dungeons every single day.
Me 2, but then i would also like to see the “mythic’s lost out due to running out of resources” being added to the equation.
I feel bad for @Saltypatra this has to be a PR nightmare right now for her.
