Zuul or Ctharrasque?

Hi all, level 1020 and 7/8 power orbs. i know that the consensus is to craft zuul, but there is more to the story.
apparently zuul is great at explore 12s and delves. however, i am still a long way from needing medals or doing extremely hard delves. My main focus is pvp right now.
i see and fight much more ctharrasque teams than zuul in pvp. additionally, it seems like slayer class with fireblade is the only viable class with zuul, and grinding it to 100 is like a chore and it will take months before i can get it to 100.
so: zuul or cth?

Zuul is the better one. Eventually u want both in a super killer team with wand of stars and Leprechaun in the bottom.

My opinion is Cth.is better!

Have you ever tried Zuul based teams with the hero with Slayer class up in front? Often very effective.

You’ll often just use whichever one fits the color restriction you’re dealing with. Both can loop/refill just fine with low rarity troops.

I do think zuul is a bit better, even totally ignoring skull damage, because of centauragon. If you have a khafru that might push you closer to cth.

Zuul and Centuragon are two pees in a pod. A lot like how Ctharrasque and Queen Beetrix can work well together. I think it’s honestly a matter of opinion as one is red, blue, purple and the other is green, brown, yellow.

These two bosses stand in the shadow of the almighty dragons anyway…

There’s a really good Zuul team.
If your Slayer class it level 100.
Otherwise, there’s now a lot of mythic that slam exp 12 in 3 AOE shots or less .

Ctharrasque has so much extra turn potential.
Plus fills yellow allies.

Zuul is like an 80s sports legend, will always be amazing.
But now is to old and unfit :joy:

are most people suggesting ctharrasque? how much loop (or regaining a good amount of mana) potential does it have?

Ctharrasque can loop, but here’s the thing…those heroic gems he creates? They can override their corresponding colors, making it harder to loop. (Faerie fire for green, Cursed for brown, Yellow giant gems for yellow respectively).

I honestly think that the developers need to fix this aspect of the game. Heroic gems should NOT override their associated color. I think this mess first started when they reworked Zhul’Kari, and unintentionally nerfed Night Spider. Because web gems could override existing purple gems on the board and themselves, we couldn’t loop as easily, and if we missed, our whole team got webbed. It completely nerfed Rogues for no reason, and we enjoyed Corsair,Rope dart/Night Spider/Mother of Darkness/Captain Macaw.

Sometimes, they don’t realize how much of an impact they can have, but that was a dark day indeed…

The answer, it depends:

Zuul’Goth

Pro:
Creates only skulls, so there’s a reasonable chance to get your turn back
Creates skulls, so there’s a chance to kill 2+ enemies in one cast
Freeze all enemies on cast, so if your skulls miss, it can be less of a set back
Mythic from Karakoth, for your Kingdom Level needs

Con:
Missing with skulls against stronger opponents can be a problem

Ctharrasque

Pro:
Can self-loop
Can Faerie fire
Brown is probably one of the easiest colors to fill

Con:
Creates a variety of gems, so the chance of self-looping isnt as great
When you miss and they can use Yellow…
Can get yourself cursed and/or faerie fired too

I would actually wait on making either Zuul/Cthar and see if the spoiler troop comes out or not. Looks like it could be very fun too..

a non-0% chance this may be craftable in the future. Not guaranteed to be craftable either though.

I have a bad feeling that we will need Dago’Nath to craft the “Maelstrom” version of him. If they do that, it’s going to feel like “pay-to-win” because the chances of getting him after this campaign ends will be…abysmal.

it kind of depends i guess…we didn’t need kurandara to craft EK
