Will Gems of War still exist in December 2026?

I think so. It likes to die really slow. 2027 idk tho.

I will say tho the recent pet n sf updates are a good sign that they can do good things still.

I would agree if they didn’t release a bugged version of it. Luckily another player raised the issue so it’ll be fixed in a year or two otherwise 90% wouldn’t have noticed it. Since the update no pets that buff troop types or kingdom types are in the pet rescue pool anymore. Only event pets and troop specific boost pets are available.

As someone who still loves the game for the abundance of good times outweighing the bad, I kind of hope it won’t. It’s been a while since I’ve been excited about the game and, honestly, the only reason I still play is because I have all the achievements and want to make sure I don’t miss any new ones in this update or that update. I know achievements are stupid and I usually don’t care these days, but having all of them in this game is one of the few exceptions (probably because of the fact this game has been living now for over 10 years). I will always love the game, but I think it’s about time it packed its bags and retired.

I honestly want the game to die off already. At least just stop doing updates.

At this point with how much the game has changed, I think the devs should finally move onto Gems of War 2.

Be honest. What percentage of the players would want to play that?
Is it worth it, or are they better keeping what they know works and limping along?

They kinda tried that with PQ3. I stayed well away from it because I was familiar with GoW…

Whilst it remains economically viable, the owners will want to keep extracting value.

Full-time (ie taking into account the reduced studio days), they seem to only have about 4-8 people, so perhaps overheads of 500k - 1,000k p.a. I’m not sure what server costs are, or royalties to software/engines etc but I would guess much less than the overhead cost (200k?). Rent for an out of the way office space $60k p.a..

I thought that I read somewhere on a post that the income for the game maybe around 3,000k to 5,000k p.a.. App stores take a % of the purchases.

If you’re the owner, and you’ve got a cash cow producing ~2-3M profit p.a……would you shut it down?

there’s a lot of people that love to jump on new server starts for games. there’s also a lot of people that’d try something new but wouldn’t jump into a 10 year old game over the fear of being way too far behind (rightfully so at this point for Gems of War)

I hope so for the people that love the game. I’ve lost a lot of enthusiasm for it for quite some time now yet here I am still playing. I cant see my playing at this point next year of it wasnt for my guild I’d have left ages ago

The game needs a revamp. Substantial changes not just bad reworks. Looking at you guild wars.

How about bigger guilds an extra 10 people.

Weekly’s become easier on all members more LT for bigger guilds etc.

Also make LT worth it.

Crossplay. Don’t tell me you can’t make it happen it’s incompetence at this stage.

Each month 1 free mythic in the soul forge help newer players catch up

Actually fix treasure hunt for once.

and most importantly listen to the damn players.

Idk. I have noticed that of late in pvp I’ve been getting many new players as opponents. A lot of veterans have quit this game. Don’t see a lot of names on the pvp list that used to be regularly in the top 100 either. That’s bad. New players just come and go but that’s what’s all is left. I don’t think the outlook looks all too good tbh.

I’ve been getting lots of really low level opponents in pvp too. I do question whether they’re real players though.

They the ones with really low stats? Managed to get the free rewards section done fighting these in blood frenzy this week. Feel like im playing a bot rather than actual account

They should try the way to merge guild, or create alliances, then with alliance missions in addition to the guild missions, motivate the play of the members, or something similar.

I’m 99% sure that I read somewhere on the forums that if a player can’t be matched in the pvp pool then you’ll face a bot instead.
And as much as I criticize the game. I have no issues with bot match ups assuming the intent you don’t face the exact same players over and over again.

No me its great. Especially on purple with lep you get get quick easy vp. I wouldn’t have gotten the free rewards done without it

The problem is the bot matchups are very low level. Endgame players already get severely punished with low vp battles and now all of these bot accounts are making things even worse. I’m tired of being penalized for actually playing the game and leveling up.

Will that is inherently the issue. All that is left in the game are high level players or semi brand new players. No more mid-level casual players. I can literally point out the minute they gave up on mid-level retention. They introduced Epic Tasks which meant mid-level guilds/players no longer could complete Legendary Tasks. Only high percentage activity guilds could. If they did a “what went wrong” documentary on Gems of War I would say that was the first “feature” that caused the game to go down hill. And even though I was not in the room when the decision was made. I have zero doubts that Epic Tasks was a 505 Games decision that Infinity Plus 2 had no choice but to implement.
