Why don’t the Soulforge include the Underspire Sentinel troops? Like Dragon Boss, make it expensive but available in the Soulforge rotation base. This, in my opinion, will benefit gamers’ collections. Although I am aware that these troops are not worth the trouble, they are there for gathering.
He doesn’t do it. Otherwise no one would play underspire.
This game mode was created with this in mind. Whoever has a full set of guards does not do underspire
They have mentioned in the past that putting things in the soulforge can be difficult. But the main reason–more gems and money spent on a frustrating experience trying to get all of the sentinels.
I have gotten lucky getting most of them, and they do have a use. The giant sentinel is like an upgraded bone dragon because curse and freeze can counter most skull oriented teams. The elemental sentinel acts the same way, but it curses and entangles, Uber and doom skulls can still deal damage, but skulls become useless.
You have about a 1.5% chance to get them from the under spire chests (legendary and mythic chests are probably the same rate, it’s just they’re more rare, and collecting data on them is difficult).
I have had 6 with 4 dupes. The way they implemented this is absolutely disgusting. Devs do not care one bit though just keep spending your money, your opinions and feedback count for nothing
Why bother even with the Soulforge and recipes and having to farm the necessary ingredients for Sentinels, whatever that recipe and those ingredients might be? Why not ask for the developers to simply mail everybody one copy of each of the six Sentinels so that we don’t even have to put in any time or effort towards getting them?
I think the % is actually less than 1.5% if more data was collected and displayed. It was heavily skewed at the top end chest rarity making it seem more fruitful than it actually is from lack of reported data.
It’s hard to know everything about the game, but it’s most likely that we have only a 1% chance to get a sentinel from an Underspire chest regardless of rarity. I mean, it gets demoralizing reporting bad results all of the time, so we probably have a bias in reporting.
They did give us a rotation of guaranteed dragonite dragons in the soulforge, so I am hoping they do the same for Underspire sentinels. I would like to know why they have difficulty of adding things to the soulforge. They want us to spend more gems and waste our time with this because many other things are designed this way so that we never “catch up” on everything. A cost of 2,000 diamonds/10,000 souls/10 celestial stones seems reasonable.
I just highly doubt we will get this feature. Sentinels are like a MUCH rarer version of The Hoard Mimic and that evil trophy troop has existed for years. We just have to keep throwing gems in Underspire until the sentinels come out of hiding…
Its not the effort required its the bullshit rng thats getting to us. If we at least had dupe protection it wouldn’t be so bad. As it is the addition is a joke, i would be more inclined to buy the gold mark mythic if these troops were more attainable but if i can’t complete my collection what’s that point?
I think I have 2 of the Sentinels and I got both of them within 2 weeks of them being introduced. Haven’t gotten another once since.
Then again, I don’t go past the 2nd dragon boss anymore and only use the free torches. Underspire is such a gem sink that trying to complete it each week just isn’t worth it for me, let alone trying to uncover every dead end with a treasure room in hopes of getting a Sentinal as a reward.
They will just be troops that I will never get unless they magically pop up as a reward in the first 2 areas.
My luck with RNG is terrible and I still have only one Sentinel (from the first week underspire released) to prove it. The drop rate is very frustrating, depressing and frankly not worth my time to chase them.
Treasure chests were a great addition to the underground, lots of good tokens in them, with the added chance of a new troop, what’s not to like? Before, dead ends were useless, now you can be pleasantly surprised by them (or disappointed). By the way, I also have some dupes while still not having all sentinels.
Most of these dead ends are things you actively have to go out of the way for with how Underspire is designed.
and when you do get a drop, it’s typically a bunch of Traitstones, shards/jewels (extremely low unusable amount), and trinkets.
I just take a look in that Treasure Guardian Community Drop Rates twice a month to see what other people have been getting and get depressed. I’ve started skipping some weeks and the $2 to buy lanterns for that week now.
I’m totally drained from finding nothing but duds and 4 Sentinels in 1 year doesn’t make me thrilled when my next 12 are all probably going to be duplicates.
Just like those Soulforge dragons, some are going to get lucky and get them right away and call this system perfect and others are going to need 30+ Sentinels.
I’ve said before in other threads that I do the Underspire on a regular basis for two reasons:
I enjoy the challenge and variety of the Underspire.
I use it to farm a steady stream of Glory Orbs which are very helpful to me; I’m almost done with making my mythic base-rarity troops Gold Elite, at which point I’ll start spending them on legendary base-rarity troops.
I’m fortunate to have a solid enough gem income that I can drop 50 + 100 on additional torches every day; as such, I don’t have a problem completing all seven boss dragons and a healthy number of exploratory dead ends. I’m grateful to the community crowd-sourced “rules” for the Underspire that have made it easier to find the “correct” paths so that I could probably get all the bosses (and the Orbs) even if I didn’t spend quite so much.
Even so, I still only have two Sentinels. But I’ve chosen not to stress over that, but to focus in an optimistic way on the stuff I do get every week as opposed to the stuff I don’t get.
And while the completionist in me despairs, the nerd/intelligist in me recognises that one of the aims of the developers is to continually introduce new content and to keep us running on that treadmill/hamster wheel. Because if they stopped doing so, they just might lose a bunch of players who have “finished everything” and wander away to seek new frontiers to conquer.
