Why are your team still making the same coding errors every month?

I’m sorry, but this has gotten absolutely ridiculous.
Today we have a new mythic that is bugged in the same way that many of them are at launch. It’s incredibly common among Immortal troops, to the point where we start calling out the issue before they even get released, and it’s become common among other mythic troops, too.
Today’s bug is this: Mother Malice Casting Bug - Bug Reports - Gems of War | Forums
This is yet another example of a troop targeting multiple enemies, and yet another example of it being coding wrongly, in exactly the same way as all the previous ones.
What is going on? Why do you keep doing it wrong over and over, in the same way each time?
Every time, every single time, the community has to test these things and then report back “nope, you’re still terrible at this, you did the same f*ckup as all the others, please fix it”, and then wait ages for your team to put it right again.
Are you paid overtime for fixing your own errors? Is it some scam to be paid extra for the same work?
Is the person making the troops and the one fixing them not able to communicate, so the one fixing them can say “hey, don’t keep doing that wrong”? Is somebody on the team being allowed to mess stuff up without being called out, for some reason?

I just don’t get it. This is a great game, and we have a lot of fantastic troops come out, but having them target enemies in a way that makes sense, without months of (player) testing and bug reports, seems to be beyond you. Can you have some kind of meeting and figure this out, instead of repeatedly wasting everyone’s time messing it up again? And again? And again?

I honestly don’t know why it’s so difficult for them to fix the targeting issue for troops that have multiple instances of damage. It’s like they stop “attacking” once troops start getting defeated, and they don’t recognize that there are still enemies left.

The developers clearly don’t care about releasing bugged troops that are not properly tested because we have troops that still have this issue. I am not going to list them all here, but I am really getting tired of Immortal Caprichor wasting his “attacks.” Such a great toop…ruined…like all the others.

Because that’s how it coded, and they have to update engine to fix Dat. Ain’t Noone got time for that? astral delves when?

I don’t want to get too deep into this conversation, but.. Mother Malice shouldn’t be troop targetting multiple enemies at all. It should be 4 different shots. But if they wanted to leave it this way for some reason, those other attacks still need to come out. It’s a bit of a mess. They usually get these single target non-splash damage troops correct too, so this is definitely an oddity.

You make a good point. Troops that had multiple instances of single target damage never had this issue. (Except when they fixed Tina-9000) It was always if troops had several instances of “splash” damage (like Immortal Caprichor).

There seems to be an issue of troops targeting enemy troops immediately and not recognizing new targets as enemy troops are being defeated. I honestly wish I could fix this issue myself and prevent future troops from having this issue. Maybe they should rephrase troops like, "Deal [magic +4] damage to 4 random targets? to more accurately display what the spell actually does.

At this point I’m starting to think the monthly targeting bug isn’t actually a bug, it’s an unpaid internship program.

Congrats to everyone who bought the Elite/Elite+ pass: you got early access to the troop and access to the role of “Software Tester (Volunteer Position).”

The rest of the player base will get the troop later in the Soulforge.

Honestly, at this stage we’re not just playing Gems of War, we’re co‑developing it.
