Where do stats bonuses come from?

I watched a youtube video of someone playing the game, and their stats were literally a hundred points higher than mine! I was looking at a speed farm build and their Rowanne’s armor was at 150, while mine is sitting at 50.

Is there a detailed breakdown of where stat bonuses come from and how I can grind for them? I know there’s hero level, kingdom level, and obviously troop level and ascensions, but I don’t think I understand how it adds up to be over 100!

Hi @ScyllaEnjoyer, warm welcome to the community!

That’s a great question! Stat bonuses are available to view when you click on Troops and Teams and select a team. Like this:

There you can see where you get your stat bonuses. In this view, you see you have Kingdom Bonuses (from leveling up your Kingdoms), Guild Bonuses (if you join a higher guild like mine, you’ll get the max which you see here and there are starting guilds which have lower guild bonuses. Note, a lot of the great guild families usually have max guild bonuses), and Renown Bonuses are from your Underworld Factions.

If you scroll (drag) the list, you’ll uncover more bonuses to the right.

Now you see how Pets affect your team. You don’t have to equip them in order to gain these bonuses. They add up to quite a bit as well. This is why you want to be in a guild with a lot of pet rescues! Pets matter! Plus …cute.

Scrolling further to the right you see the last two:

Equipped medals: Top of your map screen shows your medals. If you’re starting out, you probably don’t have 3 medals of Nysha equipped like in this picture but here’s where I have the extra +12 magic from.

The last one is from the current Campaign.

Hope that helps you out a bit. If you have more questions, please feel free to dm me. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Above answer is great, just wanted to add that individual troops also get stat bonuses from

  1. Ascending
  2. Leveling up
  3. Using Medals (elite levels)

If you select a troop and choose upgrade, you can see options to ascend, level and unlock traits. Once you’ve done that, you can use medals to increase their elite levels, which can add an additional few stat points, across the four stats. Exactly what they get depends on what type of troop they are (their “role”), and you can see that in the same menu if you select the button at the top.
Not something you need to worry about too early, but as you get later in the game, all these stat boosts add up, and can easily total 100 or more difference.

There’s also ways to boost your team’s stats that depend on what mode you’re playing. So, if you’re playing delve battles, you can increase your horde level, which just gives your team increased stats in that mode. And some modes let you spend extra resources to boost your stats, like trinkets in PvP and extra sigils in guild events. Dunno what mode they were doing in the video you saw, but that could be a factor, too.

EDIT: OH, also… each week specific troop type and locations get a bonus to their stats. So, on one week, it might be Goblins and Zaejin troops, so if you have a team using only Goblins from Zaejin, their stats will be boosted even higher. You can see what the current boosts are from the events page on the main map (at the bottom of the screen, to the left of the center. You might have to toggle between the two pages to select the right option - if you see “PvP Games Guild” hit the toggle to the right of those three buttons so it says “Settings Events Calendar” then select Events and switch from the news tab to the events tab). They get an extra 10%, so around 20% if it has both.
This week it’s Hellcrag and Construct troops. So a troop like Stone Zombie gets both boosts and would have higher stats this week, but next week will have normal stats again.

A lot already covered here.

  • Your account level, but you can only increase that by playing anyway.

  • Medals equipped

  • Pet boni from the deck cards [same types, same kingdom]. In case of pets we also have the regular Kingdom pets, and the “Starry” ones we get from each weeks Trial-Kingdom.

So check every week WHICH kingdom is on Trials, and then check if you have the star-pet already, or not. If not, unlock at least one copy. Trials are a bit of garbage to play in some kingdoms, so while “finishing them” for more copies is not bad, thankfully we have Pet.Orbs these days and do not need to struggle here. Unlock one copy, orb the pet up longterm. My advice on pet-orbs is to use them first on “primary” kingdoms/card decks. Like if you are playing generic battles with 2-3 Takshakas in your deck, then leveling up the Mist of Scales pets with Orbs certainly will be helpful.

  • Minor bonus from the weekly campaign stuff.

  • Your cards being max level and traited. +being maybe ascended further. +maybe even getting some minor boost from being shiny. But Shiny usually is more mana reduction and boosting their card effects, then ratehr boosting stats.

  • Your Delve progress. Look, I know. Delves suck. But, if you wrap up enough of them, the progression does add some minor stat boosts.

  • One of the main things comes from leveling up your Kingdoms. And thats a forked two-way.

Best go step by step and bring all your kingdoms to Power Level 10, then strife for 20. Similar to the levels need scrolls/books. First aim for 10, then 15. After 15 things become tricky.

While leveling kingdoms and especially if not having “plenty” of resources, the rule of thumb is always: the 5 Magic Kingdoms have priority.

Sadly 4of5 use Purple scrolls/books, so leveling them up gets troublesome. But Zhulkari uses green scrolls/books, so you can do that one on the side while pushing another purple.

As mentioned prior, best get all kingdoms equally up to certain levels, before starting to go for “finishing pushes” on specific ones Its better to get a bunch of boni from all places, then the highend bonus from only a selected few Kingdoms right away. After Magic Kingdoms I deem Attack boosting Kingdoms next in line, because more skulling damage comes always handy. Afte rthat, Life Kingdoms are next best to improve against those “True Damage” insanity we get thrown at us more and more. Armor Kingdoms are not useless, but now still the last to push for highend bonus
