When was the previous time we got a "meta useful" troop from the weekly event shop for glory?

I can’t remember, so please help me?

Tell me I am wrong..

Was it Leprechaun back in 2017, or so…

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Centuragon was a Glory Shop troop during the campaign that introduced Nexus, Elementalist, et cetera.

That was back in the days of new Legendary troops being made available through Event Keys; Oneiros came out that same week and probably hasn’t ever been used by an endgame player for anything other than the Dominion Fields troop count.

I think Jeweled Golem was in the glory shop? It was during a Broken Spire world event I think, but that troop is a really good mana generator and made construct a more diverse troop type. (I think daughter of time was in there also, but I’m not sure).

Someday I will be able to get him to shiny level 2 because right now, it’s pretty much impossible.

Would you believe that one day I had have them all shiny-maxed :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Fortunately/Unfortunately with all of the fast mana 3rd traits we’re starting to get, almost any epic or below troop are forced out of the “meta” status.

Looking past that, there’s quite a few good troops that just need to be filled once to start doing good things.

Jeweled Golem (Aug 6, 2023) is probably the last well known positively useful troop.

There’s multiple in-between then and now. Troops like Ehecatl for general use, or Murk, Lurk, and Durk for Goblins etc.

Surprisingly, the most recent useful glory shop troop in my opinion is very recent with Scrollweaver (July 13, 2025). It’s a Red/Purple troop that can self-loop Purple while feeding others and webs easily with good choices. Downside being your team can get webbed too, but that’s why you pick troops that don’t get slowed down by Web (immune to web or non-magic related). It also has Stoneskin for sitting up top. The one odd joke is that it’s also Immune to Web despite not using its magic, which gives it protection against Devourer and Shadow Beetle, I guess.
