What is game doing when "Loading World", "Loading Hero"?

Every time Gems of War restarts on my phone, it goes through a list of tasks:

–Loading World
–Logging In
–Loading Hero
–Loading Assets

The third and fifth items on that list typically take longer than the other four combined. Can anyone explain what is happening during these steps, what the limiting factor is for speed, and what I (or the devs) can do to make this process faster?

We’re hoping to cut down on a lot of this with the next update when mobile gets the Unity version.

As in, I should be seeing improvement in the beta version now, or it will be the version after the move to Unity?
