i don’t see difference on an x4 speed and with sound disabled) It it goes to numbers 65/80=0.81, so theoretically manasurge must trigger 20% more often.

you’re in a perfect place to test it

Mana Surge is basically the part where you’re getting +3 mana on a 3 gem match if you’re not using a related banner and links (which just adds on).

so without a banner for purple, you’ll want to compare a 3 match grabbing purple now with a different color that you don’t have the node. 66% was still a lot before, but it was noticeable from time to time that you were only getting 3 mana on a grab.

At 81%, a 3 mana grab still happens, but you’ll get a healthy amount of 6 mana from it.

The surge nodes aren’t links, so you aren’t getting “extra” mana from what we were getting before. You’re making the 6-8+ (with banner/links) mana grabs more consistent. (mana surges don’t happen on 4 matches anymore and mana surges are 100% on 5 matches)

In 2026, it’s basically just to get Wand of Stars/6 Color Dragons to full faster, before winning by pressing buttons.

Worth noting: Mana Surges also apply to Gem cascades after casts and when the board resettles..

that being said, I’m totally ok if everyone else decides these nodes are terrible and the devs decide to buff them even more. Could only imagine what it’d be like the closer to 100% it gets

As to me it’s more like “cool” feature rather than “okay” or “meh”. 65 means you won’t get a manasurge every 3rd gem collect (in common) and 80% means it would be every 5th collect - it is a thing. At a endgame it could be a very sugnificant if it only work in a GW, but it’s not and for an endgame player with factions closed it’s just okay - i rarelly played with thral or bork or swamp or smth at a places where it’s too important to get a surge and fill my troop with a 1st move. But for a midgame with factions and epic trails it could be a very very helpfull thing

For me, its more for Underspire and then generic guild events that more mana = better. After that, PvP is a nice boost too.
