CRAZY CAT LADY

New Epic Troop: Hellclaw Rager

Hellclaw Rager will be available this week for 400 Glory in the shop as well as in Event Chests, and will appear in Glory, Gem, and Guild chests in 3-4 weeks’ time.

World Event: Cat Rescue

There are 6 battles that players can encounter during the event: Zephyros, Stormsinger, Ursuvius, King Heliodor, Mistralus, and The Sparkinator. This event has 3 Phases:

  • Phase 1 – The first 3 battles are the only available battles to play, and have an equal chance of appearing. Players will need to win 15 battles here to progress to the next phase.
  • Phase 2 – The first 5 battles are the only available battles to play, and have an equal chance of appearing. Players will need to win 15 battles here to progress to the next phase.
  • Phase 3 – All 6 battles are now available with an equal chance of appearing. This phase continues until the end of the event.

Scoring
You can find the following rewards for each of the different battles you may encounter.

  • Stormsinger: 2 Essences
  • Ursuvius: 3 Essences

Thanks for the post, again. Seems like forums are being stupid heads, again, and not making the official posts. @Jeto

The loot table for troops in event chests is expected to look like this:

Chance Amount Troop
0.11% 1 Ubastet, Umenath
3.2% 1 Behemoth, Sehkma
12% 1 Finley, Hellclaw Rager, Kartek the Climber, Leocorn, Night-Slayer, Salamander, Second Claw Anhur, Shadow-Hunter, Stone-Shaker
21.6% 1 Chimera, Claw Dancer, Raksha Free-Blood, Rakshanin, Spell-Paw, Spiritmane, Tuskar
21.6% 2 Half-Mane, Rex Warrior, Rift Lynx, Sabertooth Lion
21.49% 3 Bandit, Pride Hunter, Sunsail, Troubadour

It doesn’t contain faction troops, guild wars troops, tarot cards and special soulforge troops, even though the official Game Guides suggest otherwise.

Event chests have been configured incorrectly in the past. Infinity Plus Two doesn’t compensate for keys wasted due to their mistakes, if you plan to spend a large amount of keys, make sure what you are looking for has already been found by other players.

The trait would grant enrage even if the enemy was not killed by Hellclaw Rager

Edit: I see your point. It seems redundant.

Whatever you think about the trait. This is an absolute slam dunk of a troop for this weekly event. Triple spell dmg and double skull dmg vs elementals plus enrage, with medals that boost both, and every single battle (except sparkinator fight) is vs 4 elemental troops

So let’s celebrate the fact that the new troop is released in a week when it is super useful. Everyone loves to complain when synergy is lacking. Let’s celebrate it and call it out when it’s there. This troop, during this week, is an example of what everyone wants more of.

So, just wanted to say, great troop this week. Great job on the synergy this week gems of war team :+1:

I’m not even annoyed by the overlap. Most triple damage troops don’t have a lethal condition (barring the “can hit wrong enemy” gnoll spells) or a decent extra effect. It has a kit that is actually synergistic instead of working against itself or the things it is supposed to pair with like over 90% of troop releases. It is useful in the event it was released during.

The troop could have been released with the “If they die, Enrage myself” text omitted completely and have only been slightly worse and still have a niche, and would have been in line with the majority of triple damage troops and there would be no real cause to complain. Losing Bloodlust in favor of… what… maybe Frenzy at best, or, lets face it, probably a “heart” or “bond” trait is a direct downgrade to its kit.

Changing the lethal condition to if “If they die, gain 5 attack” probably have made more sense and still been in line with the overall theme and power range of similar troops, yes, but this has real potential for this kind of complaint to snowball into one of those “we changed sunpear’s trait to +2 fire link because it was too similar the firestarter talent” kind of situations. Like, mostly irrelevant on this troop cause its still mostly irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, but still, I’m pretty sure “feedback” on how it was dumb that there as the Firestarter/Heatwave overlap and quite frankly bad suggestions that it was somehow an issue of import directly led to that fiasco.

Can be useful for starting players who don’t have the necessary traitstones.
