I was battling in the arena and when the player I was fighting attacked my hero my weapon changed from dawnbringer to blade of justice and I had the mana for dawnbringer blue red yellow but had the blade of justice weapon and had to feel all three mana pools to attack. When the battle was over in my second fight I had dawnbringer back as my weapon.
Something similar happened to me during the beta for 4.0, was fixed during the beta, and has not reoccurred since. I guess there was some additional edge case or race condition that could cause that bug.
(Or you managed to access the beta servers from your console
