Actually, I wonder if I would have a different attitude towards events if I wasn’t an end gamer. Frankly, the rewards are meh for an end gamer. I’m sitting on a comfy hoard of gems and keys. I have the event epics at mythic already. There really is no reason for me to go out of my way to complete an event, especially since I have to stack up trophies for my guild.
Exactly that!
My approach is pretty simple - if I feel like I have to do anything that could be called ‘gaming the system’ to make it work, then I don’t bother.
Doing the same challenge over and over again, sure, fine.
Resetting explore battles until I get a good one… a hundred plus times… because normally they’re not even 1/4… no, that’s where I draw the line.
This is my point - most end-gamers view these events as an inefficient use of time compared to other activities. They seem to be geared towards newer players and/or people in less active guilds.
The issue is that if the events are THIS hard for end-gamers in active guilds, they may be impossible for the apparent target audience.
And just how new are we talking? ZuhlKari is a pretty early kingdom by happenstance but some of these events are aimed at comparatively late access kingdoms. The bonus souls for PvP is only useful to someone who isn’t doing a dedicated soul team, and who is far enough along to have a reasonable team of Pan’s Vale troops but not a single soul generator?
they wont have a “reasonable” pans vale team as their resources to level up a whole team is limited adn they wount and shoudlnt level new team every time an event asks about it
but they still probably cant use a soul generator (even if having one) as it would give 3-6 souls (something like that)
you dont imagine many new players find a pharos or dragon soul
Having the troops to make such a team, period, is also a factor. The 20 souls teambuilding events aren’t good for anyone. I’m pretty sure you can finish Zhul’Kari, use Tyri to generate maps, and use the maps quickly for about 80 souls a pop more effectively than trying to cobble together an exclusively Pans Vale team out of troops you got from gold keys on your first couple weeks (even worse considering you can’t use the hero, which basically cripples any team you’d be building during super early game).
In fact, I’m almost certain, because when I started my low level account this is exactly what I did early on. Getting and quickly using maps was the most reliable way I had to gain souls before I was able to get soul generators and a usable amount of magic. Thankfully, that period didn’t last long since I don’t particularly like Treasure Hunt.
Here’s just some stats for the Dev team about this week’s event for finding elves
55 explore teams (Silverglade or Zhul’Kari are the two I am going back and forth to) = of these only
17 teams with 1 or more elves
break out teams
38 teams = 0 elves
9 teams = 1 elf
3 teams = 2 elves
4 teams = 3 elves
1 team = 4 elves
31 Elves
Reset the team presented that had 0 elves = 38 times (using the select Difficulty/Close/Explore/New Team)
of this lot only 11 had elves
27 teams = 0 elves
4 teams = 1 elf
2 teams = 2 elves
5 teams = 3 elves
0 teams = 4 elves
21 elves
going to track to get to the 100 mark… but this is by far the most restrictive one in one sense. For me on the other hand it means souls and stones, which I would have done anyway.
Added (Got to 100 and 150)
Here’s the stats (Again the same deal if I got 0 I would reset the explore through the Difficulty entering and leaving the option)
break out teams
35 teams = 0 elves
5 teams = 1 elf
8 teams = 2 elves
12 teams = 3 elves
0 team = 4 elves
Reset (of the 35 times)
18 = 0 elves
4 = 1 elf
7 = 2 elves
6 = 3 elves
Overall stat 194 attempts of that 76 contained elves - 39% of the explore
118 = 0 elves
28 = 1 elf
20 = 2 elves
27 = 3 elves
1 = 4 elves
Though on a positive side I managed with the souls and traits stones earned to bring 5 of the 7 kingdoms that I had left to 5 stars. Now only two left to get to 5 stars and one of them I can’t until I get troops from that Kingdom.
For me it was maps at first, then I didn’t build a team without Valk for about six months. Yes she’s lost Necromancy, but she got friends too. Wright and Banshee also at rare for easy access, Warg with a static 10 that’s not magic reliant at Ultra-Rare, and Avina as a quest line reward if the RNG really hoses you. Fitting one of these into a decent team, or even just tacking one on the end of a strong three troop combo, is way easier than cobbling together a highly restricted team.
