Victory Points suddenly disappeared?

Hello,

I’m asking for my mother, she plays Gems of War on the Switch and yesterday morning she had about 180,000 Victory Points (she couldn’t remember the exact number).
And yesterday evening it was only 16,000. She called me afterwards and asked if I knew what was going on. I didn’t know and thought I’d ask here?
She says she hasn’t done anything except change alliances 2 or 3 times and otherwise played normally. She has also already restarted the Switch. Is this some kind of bug?
Maybe someone knows what or where the problem is or maybe someone even has a solution to the problem.

This is exactly what caused the reduction in total VP. See patch notes for 7.5:

If a player decides to leave their Alliance they will lose 25% of their Total VP (Weekly VP will not be affected), All their current Loyalty, and their current Alliance Rank.
