We’re definitely fortunate we were in the better guilds, personally I sought that out instantly once I realized how this game really works. You really don’t have to do that much even in SBG.
I think my RNG luck has been average, I am extremely conservative and hoarded for ages. I only open anything besides event chests when a mythic is released. New kingdom? There will be an event. New legendary? Event. Everything else is for mythics.
It works so far at least.

Yup resisting the temptation to open chests during non-mythic weeks is the best strategy, in my opinion.
But it is hard. So. Damn. Hard.

Level 434 and have every single card in the game except Famine and Death. Playing this game only since beginning of December 2016, few months.
