Going through my notes from last week? 20 Treasure Rooms, 22 Trap Rooms.
I revealed every room in the Underspire last week, buying 10 torches Monday through Friday, 15 torches on Saturday, and 5 on Sunday. Between a handful of torch rewards from various rooms plus 4 more from the Powder room, that was enough for me. I left “ordinary” rooms in dead ends alone and wiped everything else out.
Yeah, I used it to teleport there and then back, then just used that as a reveal like the oracle. I just didn’t explore on the other side.
As I said, you could come out more than seven torches from the path, since not every side path is only seven torches long, so I didn’t see the use in exploring beyond it. Just teleported through and back, as you say.
OK. This week, I found the teleport room near the end of the 2nd zone and it took me to 5 rooms away from the 4th boss, letting me skip the 3rd zone entirely, and get a headstart through the 4th zone, ready to try and do the 5th zone. So, yeah, that was good.
Update three events in…
Revealer is still pointless. Instances where it showed me anything useful - 0; instances where it showed nothing helpful at all - 3.
Teleporter? I’d say following things should be true for it to be considered useful:
a) you don’t want/need anything from sentinel chests and
b) you don’t want/need anything from treasure chests and
c) you don’t want/need any rewards from dragon chests you skip by taking the teleporter and
d) you must be committed to fully exploring areas as you go instead of going strait to the end first and returning back to explore later.
If you happen to fall into this category of players, more power to you; otherwise - it’s just a meh gimmick.
As for new rooms that give stuff (I mean treasure specifically and let’s sligtly glance at traps along the way)
Not even enough writs for crafting three ordinary deeds (supposing they drop an average of 20 writs, all I’ve seen is either 15 or 25 for a room) while everything else is essentially junk, junk and even more junk. It is the very most definitely not worth going out of one’s way to look for more rooms (unless, of course, walking advertisement billboards for gambling industry who shout from the rooftops about the immense worth of this new gimmick would stop hogging all the good rewards and leave some scraps of those for us, ordinary wimps, out there).
I’ve started fully clearing underspire every week now as i don’t want to miss a book! Before I would complete the last boss and fight any sentinels I’d revealed through the week, but there was no reason to fully clear. Now there is, for me anyway.
That sounds similar to what I had a couple weeks ago, which was pretty much peak usefulness. Skipping the 3rd section entirely with the low value rewards its dragon has saved time and some gems without missing out on much.
Last week it took me from near the end of zone 2 to the beginning of zone 5 (literally a couple rooms past the 4th keystone). That was less useful because I had to go through zone 3 and 4 to get the 4th dragon rewards that I wanted for the orbs. So that one didn’t save me much at all.
This week though it went from the end of zone 2 to the beginning of zone 5 (literally a couple rooms past the 4th keystone) again. At first, I misread which side of the 5th gate I was on, but it was the same as last time. So this week it wasn’t terribly useful either.
It does seem like the pattern is that the teleport has been near the end of zone 2 each week. Where it goes seems to be a bit variable though.
At least you are getting Guardians. I’ve not… it reminds me of orbs of ascension…. I get one every blue moon…. I just like now getting not having the do Dungeon to get Dragonite. Rather spend my time with PVP
