-Try to do as much as possible to keep copper (and eventually silver) coins from getting near the bottom unless there’s a plan to match them away.
-Try NOT to make 4/5 matches with Green and Red chests. They’re too hard to make to “waste” like that (he says, not knowing the drop rates of green/red/vaults. I’d rather turn 5 Green into 1+2/3 reds than 1 red and an extra turn (usually).
So early, I’ll try and make copper 4/5 matches from the the top first, and gold or better from the bottom up. I’m also more likely to pass on a 4-match to set up a 5 in the top 2-3 rows because it “feels” less likely that random drops will bone me.
Holy crap!! Some of those total move scores are mind bending! I average about 30-40 moves. Going to have to try playing the strategies that were listed above and see how I do. My best is only 79. Hardly worth mentioning in comparison.
My average is still around 50 moves… But I want to play through them quickly to maximise gains over time, so don’t study the board trying to figure out cascades… Treasure Hunt is by far my most time-efficient way to get Glory, which is the resource I think I most need…
My record is 380 but i usually play for 45 or max 60 turns.
The first chests you get are the most glory efficient in my optinion. Thats why I play this way:
5-match from coins and bags first.
4-matches of anything in the lower half.
3-matches of bags or coins in the lowest 3 rows.
Result are 45-60 turns an lots of the first chests. Thats around the same time as a carfully played pvp match, has around the 100 souls I get from pvp, 60 glory and 1,5k gold instead 3 glory, 2k gold and experience like on pvp.
Speciffically farming for stones or gems with treasure hunt seems inefficient to me.
Yeah, that is exactly how I play. Anything higher just waists time for people that have 100s of maps. The following green chest also has a gem drop that takes away from more important resources. That gem drop is good for people that don’t have the 500 gem armors yet. For those that do or have Deathknight Armor, green chests end up eating at the reward potential by removing valuable normal chests and giving the possibility of a lesser resource.
It’s not hard. I did it on the first try (why did I try this is another question).
Basically you have to do the opposite of what described in this thread. do only 3 matches from the top, go for the higher value ones (sacks, then gold etc.), and generally predict what has lower chance of cascading. It requires the same set of skills, just the aim is different. Obviously you have to try for it, though, as it is highly unlikely to happen naturally, no matter how bad you are.
