Hey, I’m sorry that happened.

I would suggest trying the troubleshooting in this article here to help your device and the game run smoother:

Definitely see if you can update to the latest version of iOS
As you’re using an old device I’d also recommend force closing all other apps when playing Gems of War, you can do this by double clicking the home button on your iPad and swiping all apps you’re not actively using off the screen.

Please don’t blame the user or platform for crashes that are due to programming errors. When you do that, you make all of us who earn a living through software development look bad. Invalid memory accesses are 100% on the programmer and certainly are bugs.

If someone with knowledge of the code bothered to look at the stack trace, I’m reasonably sure they could determine what the app was doing when it died. Both crashes I’ve seen this month showed the app performing the same function – whatever it may be – so it’s not an environmental problem.

@Sisyphus there’s no blame on any person here. The troubleshooting will help the game run smoother on your device regardless.

If you write ticket you’ll be able to send the full crash log to us, I’m not going to be able to help you effectively enough on the forum, so I’m going to mark this thread as a Tech Issue again, please leave the tag in the title so another Developer doesn’t come in and do double work on the issue.
