Fair enough.
But changing a whole, mythic accumulation mode.
That’s worked for ten years.
Just because, some people want everything yesterday, is selfish.
It’s been good enough for me and you and everyone else, for years.
So let’s not begrudge, new players of what we found good for years.
Yes the Mythics need doubled in the forge.
As there’s a lot more Mythics now.
But having every mythic, craftable straight away for new players, is a awful thought.
Would actually spoil the game imo.
What would be the next request, every legendary.
As that’s what we would be trying for with event keys.
Nahhh not a good idea mate, we need to learn patience again.
It would help a lot, if the PvP Mythics, we’re actually in chests to, so we could try with keys and seels.
This is why everyone is having an issue now, including me.
Because a year wait, for a PvP mythic, is nuts.
Also, just quickly to quell one line of feedback - I do not personally think, all Mythics/Legendary troops will just be IN the Soulforge, I think in all cases, there will always be a rotation.
And my goal is to get that rotation shorter and faster.
Nobody is asking to get everything yesterday. It’s still gonna take ages to collect diamonds, etc. The only difference is once you have the currency you can use it, rather than having a second waiting period.
Speak for yourself or show receipts. It was never “good enough” for me. I’ve always thought it was a bad system designed to make players wait longer for troops based on RNG (you might get the one you want next week or in 6 months, no idea which).
To put it another way “I suffered and I’m so petty I want everyone else to suffer too”. No thanks. I’d rather we all had a better system, and the suffering ends.
So the problem is half as bad… until it gets worse again, and the force needs to be even bigger again.
People keep doing the calculations. The number of mythics keeps getting bigger and bigger with no signs it will ever slow down. If we stick a patch on the problem it only improves things for a little while. Better to just fix it now and not have to keep patching it.
So, 1) they would have to gather all the resources. For new players, that’s a long time in and of itself. 2) They’re already all craftable, the only thing stopping them is having the currency, and they can immediately craft mythics they don’t have at any time, because every mythic in the soulforge will be one they don’t have. 3) So what if they do craft every mythic over the several years it takes to gather the resources to do so, how does that spoil the game for them any more than endgame players who earned them over several years as well?
I already said, remove all legendary troops from soulforge and make them craftable or buyable from the menu. (See above now, since posts have been merged.) So… yeah.
You’d still have to earn the currency to craft/buy them. And if you’re spending it on mythics, you can’t spend it on legendaries (or vice versa)
We already have patience earning the currency.
The game is full of stuff designed to slow players down and delay them. Why should we have to wait before we spend currency we already waited before earning?
[Edit] Imagine if every time you got keys for chests you had to wait until the next months to use them to open chests. That’s what we’re talking about. Once you have the currency, why should you have to wait before using it?
For troops you were supposed to pay 25 books of marks for? Maybe the silver mark troops, but you expect to be able to get troops intended to be uber-expensive in event chests any time in the next decade? You’re having a laugh. They’ll be in the soulforge EVENTUALLY (expect Looooong delays) and then maybe never in chests. They want to force players to spend stupid amounts on them to avoid FOMO.
People are having issues because they have insane amounts of time to wait to be able to craft specific troops. We need a long-term solution that actually fixes the problem. We might not agree what that is, but hopefully we agree that needs to be fixed.
I mean, that’s literally what this thread was about, so that sucks. My whole point was that just speeding up the rotation doesn’t fix the problem when the rotation is ever-increasing in size.
Thanks. But, is that something you can pledge to keep as a goal forever? As in, even after each time it gets shorter and faster, will you keep pushing it to be even shorter and even faster?
Since the number of mythics keeps getting bigger, this is a change that would need to be made regularly, say every year or two. Otherwise, the problem just gets kicked down the road, and you need to keep kicking it.
Can we maybe get an agreement to make this a regular change? Like every time the current rotation extends beyond 9 months, the devs agree to update the forge to bring it back below 6 months? Something like that, rather than one change that brings it to 6 months and a year or so later it’s back to a 12 month rotation and growing.
I have to get any QOL to change how the Soulforge works, reviewed and approved in the first place before any comments can be made about what happens down the road after that.
The Soulforge (for crafting Mythics) was great for its time but was never futureproofed to not be a bloated system down the line.
Legendaries already had that problem nearly day 1, but because legendaries are a lot easier to get in general; most people never had that real concern.
The only way rotation can keep up while kicking the can down the road is rotating daily instead of weekly.
The devs should decide what rotation length (3mth, 4mth or 6 mths) is still good for business, otherwise it devalues (somewhat) the exclusivity related to campaign and pvp passes.
Having said that, with 1 new mythic per month plus another 5 pvp mythics per year and 5 campaign mythics per year —> that’s ~22 eligible Mythic troops added per year on average. The current ~7.5mth rotation will lengthen by ~1 month per year —> so any fixed number would just be a bandaid for a year or two, and it needs to be updated to a ‘variable’.
If the devs were to say ‘6 months’ (for example) is an acceptable timeframe, then the number of Mythical troops in the soul forge each week should:
= total number of eligible mythics divided by 26. (because there’s 26 weeks in 6mths).
Same logic could apply to legendary troops.
This should be pretty easy to implement as the remainder of the logic stays the same.
