Hello,
I am experiencing random Unity crashes in the Steam version of Gems of War on Windows 11.
System:
- HP Pavilion Laptop 16-ag0xxx
- AMD Ryzen 5 8540U
- AMD Radeon 740M
- 16 GB RAM
- Windows 11 Home 24H2 (Build 26200)
- Steam version of Gems of War
The problem:
The game randomly crashes after I have been playing for some time. It can happen both during active gameplay and when the game is simply left open without playing.
I also have a separate problem: sometimes the mouse stops responding to the game board. The game itself remains open, but I cannot interact with the board. Closing and restarting the game fixes it temporarily.
What I have already tried:
- Steam file integrity check: 3164/3164 files successfully verified
- Steam Overlay was disabled previously — the problem remained
- -force-glcore — the problem eventually returned
- -force-d3d11 — the game now definitely runs using Direct3D 11, but the crashes still occur
- Windows Hardware-accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) — disabled, but this did not solve the problem
The crash log shows:
Forcing GfxDevice: Direct3D 11
and the crash occurs in GameAssembly.dll, with:
BrotliDecoderIsFinished
The log also shows a large unloading of unused Unity assets shortly before the crash.
I am attaching my latest Player.log.
Could you please take a look at the log and let me know whether this is a known Unity/Steam issue or whether there is anything specific you would like me to test?
Thank you.
