First to the devs, massive thanks for this change. With this, Journey should no longer be a massive time sink when the event comes up, and should be a similar investment of time to Raid or Invasion.
To Zuul-Emo, I don’t know that we need a level cap. The average level gain per battle dropped from 3.6 to 2.6 (assuming you are picking the hardest battles). If you’re buying T4 that’s approximately 94 battles, and an ending level of ~245 (previously it would be ~339). If you’re buying T6 it’s 125 battles and level 325 vs 450. The only people who will see a level 500 opponent are buying T7 2 times, and if you’re doing that many battles that doesn’t feel unreasonable. Applying a level cap would only apply to the players at the top of the leaderboard, because no one else would be likely to hit whatever cap they’d set. I have no problem with extreme players hitting enemies with crazy levels, because that is their choice.
Players trying to get the 20k mile achievement will hit an opponent of level ~338, so even if you wanted to run the event hard one time for that achievement you wouldn’t hit an opponent of level 400 or 500 without a cap.
Would be good if they could also look at Invasion too. It requires a higher shop tier spend on average to complete due to the flat scoring mechanism. Is much easier than Journey but still a slog.
Thank you Jeto for the Journey event which is very pleasant to play this week following the modifications made, a very good thing, it is just necessary to note that these modifications are also maintained on the next Journey events, and not an exception for this week, it is surely already planned for you.
