Following up on the discussion from here:
I’ve gone ahead and created a new page on the Taranium called Gated Troops in order to manually track troops not yet available to F2P players. With the incoming addition of a few previously pay-gated troops, I think Gormundandr might be the only currently gated troop, but let me know if I’m wrong on that!

Depending on your definition of gated there are likely quite a few other troops missing there. If the intention is to show which troops currently can’t be obtained from loot boxes they will eventually get added to, this should probably also involve anything event related. Like Journey, Raid Boss, Invasion, World Event, Holiday Event, Kingdom Event, Bounty and Faction Expansion. To give an example, Azaleus was introduced as part of a holiday event roughly 3 months ago, I’d really like to know whether it can be pulled from chests or not.

This is where it gets tricky. Someone else suggested including PvP shop troops as well. It just gets to be a lot to track manually. Holiday events are easier since they happen less often, but I definitely don’t want to track regular events like Raid Boss, Invasion, etc.
Tracking whether they are available or not is based entirely on what I myself notice (or what others bring to my attention), so it’s not an ideal system. Still, better than nothing.

I used to manage an athletic website, while updating statistics for our athletes, so I guess my passion for that has transfered over to this game.
It’s hard to explain why I enjoy all of the different things associated with…well, everything, but it keeps my brain active. The complexity of troops, weapons, kingdoms, traits, and match-ups has always fascinated me. I might not know everything, but my brain certainly tries to think that I do…

Looked through the files today and found this… (significant spoiler alert!)

So…I guess we will be able to increase our elite levels even higher? And maybe troops will have “shiny” level effects, instead of just increased stats?
If it’s anything to spend medals or glory orbs on, then I’m up for it, but we are probably going to need a new resource. I don’t see them releasing new content like that without there being some paywall or some other obstacle in our way.
Oh no… 
If its scaled like Burning Marks or Shiny Keys, I’m not optimistic.
They are old, from my understanding and have just resurfaced cos there is work being done on the troop screens.
They were originally added as a precaution in case of anything in future and not added for something currently in the works.There are no plans to use them.
Small QoL request: keep on not planning to use them.
