Being limited to skulls is sort of the only weakness. On the other hand, the fact that he gets rid of skulls is alleviated by the space being filled with new ones.

If you explode a board with 9 skulls you will hardly get 9 skulls dropping again.

My favorite unique creation is Gloomleaf/Dryad/Treant/Green Seer. Covers all mana colors (since Treant uses brown for his spell), super heavy on buffs, and frankly by the time the enemy gets past Gloomleaf and Dryad, Treant should be fairly strong, especially with all the extra Magic this team gets from bonuses in 1.0.7. It does rely on skull matches, but with Gloomleaf depleting enemy armor and all the gems you’ll clear with Dryad, Treant, and Green Seer, it’s usually not a huge problem. It’s not the fastest team, but when played well it’s hard to lose.

I also like Serpent/Jarl Firemantle/Valkyrie/Frost Giant (can be switched for a second Serpent, depending on how you want to play it), but it’s just iffy enough I tend to save it for low-risk matchups.

Just played against @MarvelKit’s 4Gates using my Join the Feast team:
Lamia - Charm
Siren - Lure
Faunessa - Beguile
Goblin King - Goblin Feast

The concept is that the King wants to throw a feast, but due to Brian the Lucky’s campaign against goblindom, nobody wants to attend. So the Goblin King hires Krystara’s most successful and convincing PR team.

It was fun beating Fortress Gates using their own attack stat :stuck_out_tongue:

You just gave me an idea. Someone should make a thread where everyone has to come up with a background story for their teams. I am just too lazy right now lol.

If you knock politely and be nice the Gates of Delirium will open for you. Especially for Faunessa.

Hi all, I finally got my first Sheggra.

Which is the best team for her? Full Dragons (but I think Emperina is better)? Hero with Sheggra’s Heart?

Try Sheggra with the new Anointed One and hero with Eternal Flame weapon… Wow it feels strong… Gonna experiment a while and see if I need to get my nerf gun out…

Drop one of the Sheggras and try Herdmaster, or Banshee, for example… or my new favourite, pop in Aziris…

Two Sheggras don’t synergise well - high mana cost and no point casting second one after the first (all reds have gone). Make sure you don’t fire Sheggra too early - wait until:

  • Anointed One has buffed attack
  • you can fire Eternal Flame / Anointed One / others as well to pile reds onto the board
  • ideally do those to get an extra turn and go straight into Sheggra

He is in my standard team with Sunweaver. She powers him up with one cast.

I’ve never been able to think of a way to make use of him… Changing one gem to a skull is nice, but it seems like it would very rarely have a significant impact on a match. I guess a team with Sheggra would be the best place for him, but still… I just can’t bring myself to use him.

I hardly ever did until just now… he fits a nice space getting purple, often fills up when Anointed One / Eternal Flame fire and also fill Sheggra… and is a great follow up to Sheggra for a high chance of a critical 4/5 skulls hit again…

goblin shaman isn’t a bad choice for 4th either, lets you pop green in to increase chance of keeping the turn when Anointed uses his power.

I used random teams up until recently and they mostly all worked well. I’m level 71 now, and they have–to put it bluntly–stopped working altogether. I was losing literally every game.

Now I’m trying:

Hero (Blue)
Alchemist
Banshee
Valkyrie

I know it’s played out, but honestly it does work. However, I still do lose against people 20 levels lower than me from time to time (all of them invariably have 2 legendaries already, which is a whole other issue because I play a lot and I still don’t even have one haha) and I can’t remember the last time I checked my defend tab and saw a victory, etc. Love the game, but it’s just getting ugly for me and less fun as the days go on.

Getting defensive victories is highly uncommon. Even a completely maxed-out player using a difficult team will inevitably be beaten in an invade.

If you have it, swap your hero weapon to Eternal Flame (AKA Torch). Much easier to get that Alchemist-Banshee combo going. Although damage might be lower on inspection, getting those endless extra turns is unreasonably effective.

Yes, great idea… I tried it and didn’t like how he blocked Sheggra getting brown… also if something goes wrong and Anointed One dies, the Gob Shaman is left useless (spam green when no troop collects it)…

Other options might be:

  • Acolyte - speed up charging Sheggra
  • Dark Song - get the full colour spread and some hefty damage to greenies…
  • Venoxia (if you have him) - charges himself and Anointed One (though bit of a waste not having it first with that attack buff)
  • Celestasia - still charges on yellow (Eternal Flame) charges v quickly - gets you a heal

and so on…
