Looks like it. Should be straightforward enough to rework. If they do that, they should also rework the Paragon of War achievement as it’ll now be way harder to unlock in an established guild as the kingdom rework means there’ll be a bigger disparity in power between different members.
i dont know what that is. if its the be the best player in the guild war paragon thats the easiest achievement ever if someone really wants it. just be alone in a guild and do a fight and you are the best one
We shouldn’t have to quit our guild just for one silly achievement. It’s not just how we’d leave our guildmates in a bind by doing so, especially for those of us in high-achieving guilds where each of us matters, but it’s also the massive amounts of rewards that we sacrifice by doing so. Both the rewards from Guild Wars itself from an elite guild, but also the week where we lose all sorts of event-related goodies.
Its exactly what @Kezef said. Many of us will have been in existing guilds for years and will have done all other achievements by playing the game as intended. This one achievement to be better done by being solo in a guild is silly.
And now with prestige, you have some members of guild at prestige 40 and others at 70+ making it impossible unless you or they leave.
They are easy and hard achievements. And they are multiple ways to complete it.
Either you are having a solo guild or you just be the best. Or you coordinate together to make you deliberately place 1 by letting you win. Not every achievement is for everyone.
Achievements are specific goals where you sometimes have to go out of your way and have to do things people maybe not normally do. Or maybe you just hae to grind inhumanly long. That’s not unusual. Sometimes they are just bad
I’m chasing up what was actually fixed in 9.3 and what had to be pushed out further - during 9.3 development, a couple of the 505 team members we work with left so there has been a few things that moved around or were delayed etc
It’s been over two and a half years for some of the unobtainable trophies/achievements. They don’t seem too interested in fixing or even just changing the old requirements to new ones? Which is entirely possible across all platforms. Perhaps it’s a financial thing? there isn’t any financial gain incentive there for them, which is the focus of the majority of updates (to be expected with a free game) largely disappointing however, countless threads very much like this one over the years showing desire for it to be fixed. I feel for @Jeto being the only one who has to see all the complaints about it. But it’s really, really poor from the development team for so many reasons to allow it go on for this long without even a logical explanation as to why they haven’t been bothered to fix it? Perhaps there’s a lack of dev time? But if they had any passion for what they were doing they’d get it done.
It’s this. I’ve touched on it elsewhere but there isn’t the capacity to work on new updates and also address existing and the backlog of QOLs. We can’t stop releasing updates, and we address critical issues as a priority but then we are also actively trying to fit in working on everything else around it.
So this sort of comment is completely incorrect and inappropriate. Not fixing an achievement triggering issue, is totally unrelated to someone’s “passion” for their job. They are some of the hardest working team I have encountered, they just need to be a team that is double the size.
So guess that’s a no?
It’s weird that it said ‘fixed in 9.3’ only for nothing to have changed again
If it is so hard to fix the trophies, why not just completely change the requirements?
I understand it takes a lot of time to look into them to find out what is wrong and why they won’t trigger, but just changing the requirements all together is as easy as adding new ones. And since we get new trophies every update, surely this should be possible too?
Changing the requirements is just as long of a process and needs to then also go through the platform submission process and requires a client update (as in a new update being released).
Adding in a new achievement process is very different to editing an existing on.
The criticism that so many of us are sharing is that this game is falling apart, and rather than fix the issues, the dev team is focused on new content, which comes with even more issues when they haven’t finishing fixing the last lot.
I get how, from your point of view, this seems unfair. But when you’re watching someone ride an injured horse without trying to treat it’s wounds, it seems like they don’t care about the horse. And watching a dev team continually add content to a broken game, without fixing the bugs (and to be constantly adding content that goes against what the players want, like more animations that slow players down, and UI changes that take away information or remove functions like “ascend all”) feels the same way.
I don’t think the dev team have no passion. I do think it’s hard to see that passion sometimes. And something you can’t see looks much the same as something that isn’t there. That’s the issue.
It sucks that that is being pushed, as someone clearly has the wrong focus and is pushing that onto the dev team. From a player perspective, it’s hard to know who is responsible for an incorrect priority list or focus. Thanks again for highlighting that the dev team isn’t able to push things the way they would like to.
well, deep-seated insatiable passion for jamming useless counterproductive animations where they were never needed, still qualifies as passion I guess
for how long they’ve snubbed broken achievements, refused to let us pause/retreat during endless AI loops, padded out their rewards with garbage, focused on building system after system that even the most die-hard completionist will never approach the satisfaction of finishing… it’s easy to suspect their real passion is alienating their playerbase
