Thread title is not clickbait, I assure you.
Version: Switch 8.1.0.1 (v8.2 is not yet released on this platform)

Background
Since reporting the prior crash that can occur when collecting Hourly Income after leaving the game suspended through a Daily Reset, I’ve been quietly experimenting with ways to avoid or workaround the issue – and in the process discovered another crash related to leaving the game in a suspended state across a Daily Reset.
Now, I understand the concern of “why would you even do that?” but aside from the above explanation, I have to reply with “if it triggers a game crash that easily, does ‘why’ even matter?”
Steps to reproduce
(I assume the testing environment can be manually configured for any desired clock time? Otherwise you’d only be able to test for it once per day, instead of “on demand”)
Neverminding the above, this is my typical usecase:
- At the end of my play session, this time I switch to the Underspire map screen before suspending out of the game and putting my console into sleep mode for the night.
- After the daily reset (exact time does not seem to matter; can be morning or afternoon with the same results), I access my console and return to the game.
- At this point I notice my Underspire Torches have not reset for the new day, but this is not related to the crash (and has proven to resolve itself automatically when restarting the game, or after playing even one Underspire battle).
- Leave the Underspire screen to return to the World Map.
Actual results
As shown in the above video footage, the game crashes IMMEDIATELY upon leaving the Underspire map, perhaps even before it can start syncing back up with the server.
How often does this happen?
Here’s the ridiculous part: it seems to vary by what day of the week it is when you return to the game:
- (prior day) → (next day)
- Sunday → Monday: untested (Weekly Reset day)
- Monday → Tuesday: untested
- Tuesday → Wednesday: Crash (1 attempt)
- Wednesday → Thursday: fine (1 test)
- Thursday → Friday: Crash (3 times in 3 attempts)
- Friday → Saturday: fine (1 test)
- Saturday → Sunday: fine (1 test)
In the example that occurred just this morning (aka. the video footage above), after restarting the game I also noticed a Pet Rescue available (which coincides with Wednesday morning’s crash, as Wednesday is Pet Rescue day) but I am not presuming whether that is related (without collecting more data first).
