DUDE… That was … wow. (in ref to first video 5 skull missed.) other vids: still wow.
I just almost made a video, but you have more than enough to reference above. I’m still not a subscriber to all the anthropomorphism about the AI, and continue think part of the underlying problem is the AI just can not successfully identify matches on occasion.
For example: If you launch a single game of Treasure Hunt (against no one obviously) with suggestions turned on. You will witness around 2-20 examples of the AI “missing” / “can’t identify” /“can’t see” better matches.
PS: I still think this buggy console AI is more fun to play against than the one currently operating on PC.
I do not know if you know what this word means but contextually it seems fitting.
If it seems fitting, it might be because it was used properly, and therefore the author did in fact know the meaning. Food for thought.
the attribution of human characteristics or behavior to a god, animal, or object. If used correctly as it seems to fit, we are giving human attributes to the ai which if the ai has human attributes how do we not know that we are not already playing against real humans?
???
Okey-dokey
I’ve heard this said, but haven’t seen it myself.
By design, the AI will “suggest” 4 or 5 matches that don’t require any cascades. If there are none, it suggests a random 3 match.
What does it mean, to you, that it doesn’t identify “better” matches? Do you mean cascades that will clearly give a 4/5 match? Or do you mean it suggests matching bronzes instead of chests? Or something else?
No, I’m not talking about creating cascades. Just one match by itself. The suggest a move hint system will indicate a match 3 even when there are 4 and 5 matches clearly available on the board.
This same lack of identifying 4 and 5 matches occurs in regular games too, the thing is it does not always miss moves. (I’ve been trying to identify the “miss” pattern for a while).
ever since i started reading this thread, it’s ALL i see the AI doing. yesterday: a simple, linear 4 skull match available for the AI. AI takes… 3 skulls out of 4. AI’s “suggested” 3 match that would give it 4 match if i take it. AI doesn’t take it’s own match suggestions. I can’t UNsee it.
That is a nice nice word. Fair play.
Would have been a bit random to not know the meaning and accidentally use it perfectly
Here is an example: New game of Treasure Hunt, no moves have been made yet. The AI prefers a 4 coin match over a 5 match. Fairly “typical” suggestion for the AI.

EDIT: Looks like Google many not have given me the best free upload site. The video capture is safe, not 100% about sendvid… sorry. I’ll look for another site when I get a chance, don’t want to cause anyone problems.
Tried playing that video on mobile. Got spammed with some random garbage pop-ups instead
Here is a simple photo showing the AI missing a silver 5 coin (horizontal) match while using one of the same coins to “Suggest” a 4 match (vertical). I’ve highlighted the pivot coin in question.
Just play any game of Treasure Hunt (or Regular PvP, challenges, etc…) and keep your eyes peeled. You’ll be sure to see a number of 4 and 5 matches the AI can not properly “identify”
I am still going to say that whether it’s deliberate or not, if the AI decides to give up I will not hesitate to decimate. In the end, my goal is still to wipe out the enemy. I at least want them to give a damn about trying to do the same to me. I want to be able to lose weight from sweating about what’s going to drop from the mystical vertical void.
In short, I’m giving everything I have. I just want the ability to get as good as I’m going to give.
Show 'em no mercy, Pony. Be the very best, like no one ever was.
@PowerPlay
Yeah, I suppose that I probably shouldn’t be helping Mr. Strange too much. Considering:
- I enjoy reading most of the theories, I think one of was them was that we might be playing against real people.
- The console’s buggy AI is simply more fun to play against, and I haven’t seen a single player comment they prefer they PC AI.
Hey, if Germaney won’t let up until the final whistle, why the hay should I?!
Pokemon reference!
please tell me you are talking about football or as the americans call it soccer.
I was. Equestrians like their soccer. The only rules as far as species go are unicorns have to pass through an anti-magic field and pegasi have to tie their wings.
Please tell me that they don’t score foals.
