So I am wondering why my ranked pvp gold rewards are so different than my buddies…
me: level 345…defense team strength 8005…stone spirit (for the +500 gold this week)…deathknight armor
him: level 175… defense team strength 7500… .stone spirit (for the +500 gold this week)…deathknight armor
finding matches around 1800 gold… ending average about 5000 gold
Is he using gold generating troops by any chance? or troops with Merchant?
You are double his level. It’s all about the relative strength of your opponents, from what I can tell. He’s fighting more people that are way above his power level, thus earning more gold.

That’s because you must have a team with an higher team value meaning the difference between the opponent and your team value is lesser, ending in smaller earnings.
