I don’t quite understand the point of a break in the seasons. Why not just take a week off PvP if you want one? I like getting gold marks towards books of deeds and kingdom progress. I’d rather not have that taken away from me.
Any week I’m in the Diamond League, I do just enough to get my marks – my aim is to actually come in below the “cut line” so I can drop to the Ruby League the following week. This means I fight the lowest-possible VP battle, except when it clashes with my rule that “I will not fight an Elementalist Hero in a non-color/non-Central region unless Nexus/Elemental is the restriction”.
When I’m in the Ruby League, I push for a Top Three finish as to get those bonus Gold Marks. When I feel like it, I’ll also work off some of the necessary VP total to get through all the rewards from the “free track”, although I can certainly pace myself better on that front.
(For example: I’m in a Diamond League bracket this week where it was impossible to finish below the “cut line” unless I simply didn’t play; therefore, I’m trying to work off the remainder of the “extra VP” I’ll need to finish the “free track” of rewards this weekend when taking a break from grinding X12 for gnomes and tokens. It’s not an enormous number, but nor is it a small one.)
But I probably don’t exceed ~200k in a season, anymore. And I don’t feel inclined to do so.
