PvP- Mythics

It’s really (not) a great decision to offer PvP Mythics for diamonds in the Soulforge. And unfortunately, I was one of the fools who bought them in the PvP shop until now. I think that from today onwards, no one will buy the units there anymore. I certainly won’t.

That decision was announced right at the start of PvP seasons, more than a year ago:

This is well known. Nobody buys PvP mythics from the PvP shop, except possibly for bragging purposes.

More fool you for spending 2500 gold marks on a crap mythic

Thats 25 books. There’s absolutely no way you should spend that much on a troop that let’s face it will hardly ever be used

However, it was not previously known that they only cost 4,000 diamonds. It could also have been that they were offered for 3,000 gold marks. Like the dragons, for example. They are also more expensive than the eggs in the forge.

What about campaign pets, or kingdom pass weapons and legendaries.

If they’ve been bought, pre soulforge .

Should nothing go in the forge then.

As that’s what your saying.

You get a long time of exclusivity, for using gold marks.

I’m not concerned about whether they’ll be available in the Soul Forge. That was already known. I’m only concerned about the price. As far as I know, it was never announced beforehand. I just have to accept it now. It’s just bad luck for everyone who bought them (exclusively) with gold marks.

Tbh. I was under the impression, they would be more expensive in the forge to. Than normal Mythics.

As there the same price as every other mythic, then there’s no reasonable reason, why there not in event and gem keys.

Very strange tbh.

Yes. I actually thought they would be more expensive in the Soul Forge. It was a real surprise.

Too bad for those who paid 2500 gold marks for a mythical PvP shop, in addition none of the mythical PvP of this day, deserves to be so interested because they are so terrible. The rules of the game were clear from the beginning, Kafka had confirmed at the time, that these mythicals would join the Soulforge rotation, so that means 4000 diamonds like the others, otherwise he would have said at the time that they would join the forge but without talking about being integrated into the rotation. There are so many different money in use on this game, that you have to be careful, and you always have to make conversions, because those who bought mythical PvP, paid virtually each one an amount of 62500 gems. If 62500 gems were displayed on these mythicals, 0 players of the game would have bought these units. 2500 gold marks = 25 books = 1250 acts (the current price of the merchant is 150 gems for 3 acts x 16.66 = 2500 gems for a book, 25 books x 2500 gems = 62500 gems, and no kingdoms ascended thanks to the books not purchased, it calms down said like that :sob::sob::sob:, a thought for you

I said when the first PvP mythic was offered for gold marks that it was bad. And that for the price of 25 books (which is huge, arguably worth more to most players than 8 orbs of power, especially now we can get orbs of power from holiday events) I’d expect a way more powerful troop, like the most powerful troop in the game or something. Kinda like Stella being so hard and expensive to get means it need to be uber powerful to be worth spending on. And none of the gold mark mythics have been anywhere near that.

They also said from day one that the troops would be in the soulforge like any other mythic, but nowhere else. And it was discussed what the price would be, but I don’t think it was ever stated officially, so there’s no reason to assume it would be significantly higher. If you assumed that and paid 25 books worth of gold marks, that’s on you. It sucks, but you can’t expect them to charge more than other mythics now. And if they did, players would complain, and point out that these mythics are NOT worth more.

Leave it as it is. They cost the same as any other mythic, but you have to wait ages to buy them. That’s fine. And if players want to spend gold marks on them, that’s their choice.

There’s a pretty good argument here shown here that 2,500 gold marks for the seasonal PvP mythic is definitely overpriced.

However, there’s no chance I’m looking down on anyone for actually buying PvP Mythics, whether they did it for the fun of a new troop, having a troop to use during a kingdom event, the distrust of the Soul Forge system and rotation time, their priority on owning troops over Kingdom progress or any other reason.

Of all the PvP Mythics they’ve released so far, the only one I wouldn’t use is Bahamata. A lot of them could be better, but they could be a lot worse too.

Also, people overrate the heck out of Books and Kingdom Progress.

After you get Magic and Attack Kingdoms leveled up and a few Life Kingdoms to 30, you’re set. In current PvP, having every kingdom maxed out isn’t saving you from getting quickly killed by the usual PvP suspects and you don’t need Max Stats for any other content like events, Explore 12, Underspire, Delves etc.

Under the old PvP system, having a higher team score was actually a detriment to farming gold. It’s probably the same now too, but I’m too busy farming low value VP from being a higher level to pay attention to my gold.

The tribute chance and rewards dont matter either since a majority of people only care about the Gems and that’s capped at 37 Gems for the 38 Kingdoms we have. Going from 4.25x to 5x isn’t going to make a significant difference and the Kingdoms holding us back like Mydnight don’t have enough troops.

The faster people stop putting Books on a pedestal, the faster the devs can release them at a normal rate so that the mid-game players can even hope to make a dent of progress and catch up to long time players.

Maybe. Depends how you determine their worth. If you go by usefulness, it depends how many kingdoms you already have maxed. If you go by how hard they are to get, books are very high value, as they’re one of the hardest currencies to obtain.

That kinda depends what troops you have available and how high your level/stats are, but the bonuses from kingdoms are enough to make some difference, at least. For some players, that’ll be the difference between winning a battle and losing it, especially if they push for the highest level battles in events. It’s hard to judge how important they are.

I never could figure out how to work out how many gems you get. Couldn’t find anything in the game. Is it just a set chance for one per each kingdom past a certain level, or something?

They’re on a pedestal because they’re rare. If they release them faster, players will care less about them and more about other stuff. Since dragonite and immortals got released, and gold marks could buy books, players focus more on dragons and immortals and less on books, so it’s already happening, I guess.

But either way, books are worth a lot, because of how rare they are. The gold mark mythic is worth as much as 25 books, so that’s what most people compare it to when working out whether to buy it. They could compare it to dragonite (2142 dragonite for the same price) or shiny keys (125 keys for the same price), but books are the main focus. So, any troop has to be worth spending those gold marks there instead of the other stuff.

Thinking about it, 2000 dragonite is enough to craft a set dragon, or 3-4 random ones, and the gold mark mythic costs more than that. It should be better than any of them, at least, and they aren’t.

It is on this day that many GOW players learned a hard truth of gotcha games:

Caveat emptor (Let the buyer beware)

They gotcha.

But at least we’re not playing Diablo Immortal. ROFL.
