Second place reward is a worse prize than third place. Players can earn silver marks quickly and easily. It’s actually more of a punishment to receive silver marks for the effort to get to second place. As soon as reaching first place becomes an unreasonable amount of fights (usually about 24 hrs), then those in second place will then just sit tight and hope that someone knocks them down to third. Yuck.
Are you in one of the lower leagues? in at least emerald and above, all of top 3 get gold marks. I could understand the lower leagues having silver marks for some of the rewards since emerald had like 10(?) gold marks for third.
Thank goodness you are here for me. MY MISTAKE. They are indeed gold marks surrounded by some silver graphic that made me think silver marks. I will blame my aging eyes along with game design. Maybe a 1,2,3 under the gold marks vs. gold, silver, and bronze wrappers for prizes that are all gold. I’m in topaz league this week, who knows how?! Lol
