In other games I play, there’s a hard cap placed on resources. This means once you’ve reached the cap, you are not given more of that resource.
It’s like how in Gems of War, you are given “class XP” at the end of battle but once a class is maxed out, you don’t actually get more XP for it.
I’m suggesting this applies across the board to everything in the game. Putting something like this in place prevents hoarding resources past a certain point. It also means players are forced to use that resource if they want more.
Does anyone think this is a good suggestion? While it doesn’t sound like something we want as players, we need something like this as the game ages further. To keep this post brief, I have decided not to elaborate on my reasoning. If it’s an undesired feature by the player-base, there’s no point in bringing it to the devs for consideration.
Keep in mind that this thread can be locked at any time. I’m also not going to respond to anyone’s comments, because I could be accidentally overstepping some random line I don’t know about. If so, this thread is probably going to be locked at some point even if no one responds to it.
Careful what you wish for, or they eventually place those caps “very low” on certain resources. You can do some really bad stuff with limitations - depending on your intentions.
I think it is not necessary to set limits, if the player was informed of these limits and would not be labeled as a cheater for his hard work and spending his time and effort to grind and, as a result, get banned from the game when reaching these limits when doing no wrong but hard work and spending real money on the game.
Developers have responsibilities to look into issues and bugs in the game to ensure fairness to all players instead of simply ignoring the problem and coming to a conclusion without even proper investigation.
I do respect the developers and their work, but they came up short on this one, unfortunately. I hope they revisit all the players who got banned for reaching the maximum limits. Nicely, we are asking continuously just to investigate the matter.
I agree and I think that’s all anyone is asking. Just look at the facts that are presented, don’t ignore them.
Since this is already in place, in a way, why not make it official and when someone hits 2B of anything, they can still play the game, but the resource doesn’t increase. This is just like they do with XP for the classes so they should already have the code and just need to add a line or two in include other resources.
I assume the recent incident/bug triggered this post.
The solution is not to place limit on resources but use the correct data types and data structures. The player have reached a limit of the technology but it is fairly easy to change that field in the json into a string and parse it into BigDecimal/BigInteger Bigsomething type.
I agree that putting a limit on the resources is not a good idea. However, the devs need to do SOMETHING. At this point, I’d take the limit (and admitting they have a problem) over not fixing the issue at all. I’d even take an admission there is a problem with the resources and they are working on it. Instead, we’re getting ignored. I don’t like being ignored. I don’t like feeling like I’m not important. I just want the devs to do something. And, instead, they aren’t doing anything.
