Or at least limit them to one kingdom. Every week people vote for them to troll others and all it does is lag the game and help kids with 4 mythics mana blocking each other win. 3 kingdoms were voted for them and now they are stuck there. It takes 10 minutes of non stop looping and lagging to end a match.
Please limit the potions to one kingdom for voting or ditch them
@Jeto Mana potions have gotten to be a serious problem and I could explain the situation to you with a support ticket, but I don’t know if it would be too much trouble for the development team.
People know that it wastes our time and thinks that it’s funny. They might play for about 5 minutes and then let us suffer for the whole day. I respect the people in alliance chat and higher level players and I’m not accusing those players if this nonsense.
Without a feature to kick players that are ruining pvp, we don’t have any other options but to ask for professional help, to see if it’s even possible.
How do you know what others think, or why they vote for them? Have you personally asked every single one of them? Are you psychic? Is there some kind of questionnaire I’ve missed, where they filled in why they voted for potions?
Because as far as I can tell, potions are popular because most people WANT them. I don’t know why, but I do know some players have said that they’re low level and it makes PvP easier, and some have said they prefer playing with them. Some people have said they vote for them as a protest against those who think they can force others to vote how they’re told, by players like yourselves I suppose. Seems pretty arrogant to tell everyone else they mustn’t vote for an option because you don’t like it, but a lot of players think everyone should do what they say, I guess.
I don’t like potions. They fall way too often and need toning down. I wouldn’t miss them if they left, and I’ve never voted for them (I prefer doomskulls and neutral-ish gems like booty that don’t mess up the game) but the more I see people telling me I HAVE to vote against them, the more I want to vote FOR them.
If you think they’re trolling you, stop going on about it. The trolls will get bored and stop. If the potions keep winning, you’ll know it wasn’t a troll.
I support limiting potions to one kingdom at a time, toning them down or removing them, but I don’t support telling other people how they should play their games, and if most people are voting for something, they should be allowed to. Are you gonna ask them to remove everything that’s popular?
You should be glad there’s no such feature. Clearly there’s a lot of players who disagree with you, and if they all think you’re the one ruining PvP, they’d kick you out. Imagine never getting to play any PvP again because you dislike the potions in a few kingdoms.
I know I might be speaking out of turn for kicking people in an alliance, but it has been this way for quite awhile on Nintendo Switch. There is the possibility of being kicked by the kids who are making our lives miserable, and that would prove that the game has lost a lot of its core values. We don’t have that many players, but the people that do care are getting frustrated about pvp becoming even more of a slog than it already is.
I personally don’t like heroic gems in pvp, but it’s part of a voting system that can’t be changed. And yes, mana potion gems might help newer players, but the way I observed them talking in other channels suggests otherwise. And I don’t think the devs can change their nature anyway, but the slow animation (when the potion appears on your screen for about 2 seconds), mixed in with the spawn rate makes some board clears take several minutes just for them to stop.
Mana potions waste time. Plain and simple. It’s like you’re playing Minesweeper, trying not to hit mana potions on the board.
What platform do you play on? This is Switch we are talking about. Its a 3 gem match game not some mobile novelty game. Pvp should be player based and these novelty gems should be limited 1 per kingdom if that.
All the potions do is make low level players better? That tells you the player base cant win without them.
OK, you saw some people saying they voted for certain reasons, fair enough. I don’t know how many you’re talking about, or how many people play on that specific platform, but I still doubt it represents the majority of those voting for potions. I get why it’s annoying being stuck with them, and like I said, I agree something needs to change, but you still don’t know why most people vote a certain way, so I’d focus on pointing out the issues with potions, over suggesting motives are bad. That’s a better argument for change.
Totally agree. Something needs to change, I have no argument there.
PS5, where potions also get a ton of votes, and people constantly argue on alliance chat over them. And some people joke about voting FOR potions, because of other players spamming hatred about seeing them and telling people they MUST NOT vote for them. It’s common for gamers not to like being told what to do, or how they should play, so I suspect some people DO vote for that reason, but there’s no way to be sure and in the end it doesn’t really matter why they vote that way. Potions need fixing, because they cause problems. That’s the important issue.
I mean, it’s a match-3-RPG-deckbuilder hybrid, but I don’t know how you compare that with a “mobile novelty game”. Does it matter?
I don’t know what you mean about it being “player based”. There’s a voting system to let players pick stuff, which makes it pretty player based. Most players pick potions, so them being there is player based?
And potions are 1 per kingdom. You’re not getting potions, doomskulls and booty gems together. It’s just that potions seem to fall way more than any of the others (which should be fixed) and chain more easily (which is good and bad, depending on your point of view). Or are you suggesting that potions shouldn’t be able to be in two places at the same time? Cus I’d agree with that, too.
No, that might be what you get from that, but I get a different interpretation. I see it that some low level players can’t win without them, some CAN but find it easier, some CAN and do but like the speed boost (given that VP is a numbers game, it makes sense), and some can win without them and don’t like them being there. The player base is pretty varied, and saying they can’t win, because they prefer to use a tool that makes it easier for them to win, probably ignores some of that variety. I bet you have medals equipped on your team - does that mean you “can’t” win without them? Probably not, but they make it easier, right? The low level players need more tools than you to win, but some can still win without them, it’s just harder.
I still think potions need to be changed, and if that makes PvP harder for lower levels, that’s a shame for them, but the balance between low level players and high level players needs adjusting better.
(usual disclaimer) I am PVP-averse and will only rarely engage in the mode myself, but…
I remember doing a PVP match or two in a region with Dragon Gems and I was left with a strong impression that for how powerful those Gems are, they were dropping onto the board way too often.
With that as a comparison, I’m more likely to fault the rate at which Potion Gems appear on the board (whatever it is) as the problem, and not the Potion Gems in isolation.
No.. Potion Gem animation by itself takes too long for 1 activation and then Potion Gem frequency is far too high in Potion Heroic Gems. It doesn’t take much for one Potion Gem chain to the next set of Potion Gems which then chains the next activation etc.
Its like playing with the old popcorn Doomskull storm which was fun, but silly… but Potion Gems take like 3x longer.
The Potion Gem animation could be fixed and shortened, saving a lot of the frustration, but the chance the Gems of War team will do that feels low.
Maybe someone can take a clip of these Potion Gem chains and show them to Jeto and pray something changes.
this is what needs to be done or limited each gem to one vote per kingdom. The animation takes forever on the nintendo switch and sometimes can lag out the game. On pc im sure its not a problem at all with the top of the line machine running this game.
Dragon gems work well just like Giant Gems or Bomb gems. They do not lag the game what so ever and dont mind them being voted for. Any gems is acceptable on switch except mana potions because of the lag and non stop looping of matches for 10 minutes. With weak players and troops like gobblins and potions its just nonstop nonsense.
We are talking about the lag from it on switch. Not ps5, not xbox, not oc, not mobile. The switch loading for everything itself tales forever and these potions go non stop with gobblins and matches never end. With the lag ontop of it can go for 10 minutes.
Thats your choice not ours. Different system we have to deal with. I could care less what you think about this as we are long time players and a completely different system with a low player base as it is.
