Right now aside from the weekly pet rescues the best ways to get copies of pets are either to
A) spend gems with daily offers (winning up to 3 arena matches a day can unlock addtional offers at a reduced gem cost)
B) Trigger pet rescues for your guild by doing pvp until a pet gnome shows up randomly
C) Start a Gnome-A-Palooza using verses go into pvp quickly until you kill a pet gnome then go continue to kill gnomes in explore until it ends and then do the pet rescue you triggered.
Finding a good guild that aims for pet rescues helps as well, our guild manages to get 50+ pet rescues a week and even more when there are vault events
